Kade was chuckling the whole time he and Butch were going up the mountain. They finally reached a high enough point that they could see nearly everything below them, snow, trees, you name it. They also were able to see the train tracks.
"Whoo! We made it!" The gray wolf smiled with relief, glancing over at Butch.
"Yes, but how will we get down in time?" The tan bloke pointed out, biting his lip with uncertainty as he heard a train whistle in the distance.
"That's easy. You know, sometimes the best way to achieve your goals is to give a little...push!" Before he realized it, Butch was being pushed over the mountain and was in the air for quite some time before landing a little firmly on a sturdy piece of wood that was shredding powder as he went down.
"I swear to god, you are crazy!" He screamed with fear, which soon turned into a exclaim of excitement. "This is amazing!"
Kade wagged his tail, sliding onto another nearby piece of wood, using it to help him jump onto Butch's.
As ridiculous as it seemed, the two males were almost surfing, and they were having quite a good time.
"You are right! This is so much easier!" Butch closed his eyes, feeling the wind nearly lift him right off his paws. He fancied that feeling.
"Uh, Butch, you might want to open your eyes!" Kade's yell only came out as a murmur in Butch's ears, for the wind was blowing hard. But, at the last moment, the tan brute listened, only to widen his eyes with shock as they saw they were already drawing near the train.
Too close for comfort, I'd say. The wolves hit an open train car, Butch being tossed in and almost thrown out the other side. Kade however, didn't have as much luck. He barely grabbed onto the wood of the inside of the car before he began falling, Butch grabbing onto his scruff just in time.
He pulled him upwards, breathing heavily. Kade was especially freaked out, having just had his tail nearly torn off by the train itself. "Tha-" He wasn't able to finish his sentence, he was too confused, not to mention still shaken. "Thanks."
Butch gave a slow nod of his muscular head, sighing with relief. "Anytime." He responded, closing one of the doors of the train car shut with his paws before placing them on the wood once more. "That should lower our chances of dying a little, right?" He winked. He watched Kade stare out at the mountain they had come down a few moments ago.
"Don't look back." Was all Butch yawned.
"Ew, Kade, did you wet yourself last night? I told you no water before bed!" Butch snickered jokingly, as he had stepped in a puddle of some sort.
"You're gross, Butch. Do you really think I'm that inexperienced? You said it yourself. I'm not a puppy. I don't wet myself. You are honestly being ridiculous. There was just a lot of rain." Kade yawned.
"I know, but I have to make sure." Butch leaned his head down to lap up the strange liquid, causing Kade to crinkle his nose in disgust.
