Kade leaped at the dog, locking eye contact with the monster who had turned his best friend against him.

He had definitely grown some muscles over a year or two, and at least seemed somewhat more mature, even if his brain wasn't fully developed.

"Don't be a fool, Kade. If you can't even defeat Butch, what makes you think you can beat me?" Phantom smirked.

Kade growled. "You don't have the right to talk about my mate like that! Leave Butch alone! He is none of your concern!"

Butch was in the background and he stood up slowly. "K-Kade."

"He will be alright, Butch." Phoenix told the brute, yet he wasn't actually sure.

A few paces over, Trevis was fighting Kanoa.

"I wish I realized this sooner. You can't just kidnap me, force yourself into my life, and make me evil!"

"Well, I did, and you fell for it, like the little prick you are!"

Trevis snarled at the brown wolf. "I'm sick of you! I'm sick of Phantom! I just want everything to go back to normal!" He slammed into Kanoa, charging, his head pointed in Kanoa's direction.

"You want to be a pussy again? A wuss? A coward?!" Kanoa challenged as he slid backwards from the impact.

"Shut up! If that's what it takes to make everything go back to normal then fine! I am a coward! But I don't care what you think!"

"You obviously do, Trevis. And you just don't get it, your life will never be the same!" Kanoa jumped onto the Australian mix and hooked his two front fangs onto Trevis's scruff, daring to pierce them deeper into his skin. Trevis winced and struggled to get out of his grasp, angrily baring his teeth and snapping his jaws at Kanoa, urgently trying to reach him.

"Fight me like a wolf, not a dog!" Kade screamed, clapping his teeth around one of Phantom's legs and pushing against him, causing him to fall onto the ground. Phantom kicked Kade away with his hind legs, and Kade tried to pin him down, but as Kade sprung into the air to do so, prepared to land on the white and black dog, Phantom's reflexes were quick and he lunged his back legs again, sending Kade flying away from him.

"Okay, if you say so!" Phantom laughed. "You are so pathetic, not to mention predictable!" He unsheathed his claws into Kade's neck fur before sheathing them again. He repeated this multiple times, almost like a cat. Blood was not drawn, but it was a gesture to show that Phantom was going to kill Kade.

"Kade, no!" Butch ran to help his mate, but Phoenix held him back gently by his scruff, tightening his grip a little when Butch struggled. It was not enough to break the skin, as Phoenix would never mean to hurt Butch, but Phoenix did make a good point when he said through Butch's fur, "I know you are his mate, but you have to respect his choices! Kade told us that he doesn't want anyone interfering, especially you! This is a battle between him and Phantom!"
