Orbit's eyes shot open as his head appeared out of the water. The river was surrounding the rest of his body, as he struggled to stay afloat. He was confused. Before he knew it, he heard a crack. And then he felt an electrical buzzing.
His robotic leg fell off, zapping Orbit in the process. He had been electrocuted, but not badly enough. The leg sunk, falling farther and farther towards the bottom of the rushing rapids.
Orbit pushed himself, desperately trying to get to shore. He finally made it, after a few minutes of weak and tired strides of swimming. He collapsed onto the ground, panting as he tried to stand. He instantly regretted it, for he only hit the earth again. He had forgotten. His robotic leg had replaced the real one that Orbit had lost in the caribou stampede.
His fur upright in a spiky position due to the electric encounter, Orbit attempted to balance on the three legs he had left. He hated it; not being able to stand properly, and having to hop around. It wasn't wolf-like...it wasn't...normal. As thoughts of his father and anger at Lukus's family swirled his mind, Orbit saw the stone in front of him.
Drake had told him about the stone, but still, Orbit was surprised to see it.
"Why did you bring me back?! I wanted to die! That's why I jumped off that bloody cliff! And what do I find? My heart is still beating! I'm still breathing!" The young wolf hissed.
The golden rock just laid there. Suddenly, a voice came out of nowhere. "Orbit, you were brought back for a reason. Perhaps you should use this next life as a gift. Or wisely, at least. You have a second chance. Don't waste it."
"I don't want a second chance! W-wait...can...I..." Orbit paused, swallowing, wishing that he could also swallow his problems. "Transfer my second chance over to someone else?" He finished his sentence.
"Hmm...I suppose." The voice replied. It seemed to be coming from the stone. "Who might you want to transfer it over to?"
"Lukus and Andru talk a lot about some things...I once heard Andru speaking about his father...but he also mentioned that he had another father who was dead..."
"Ah, you must be thinking of Kade."
"Yes, Kade. That was his name."
"Kade is currently a Heaven angel. Usually, a Heaven angel would not be able to come back to Earth...but in this situation, he would be able to, because he can't reject the option to come back."
"You mean, if I give it to him, he'll come back whether he wants to or not?"
"Yes, that is correct. Do you still want to give him your second chance?"
Orbit thought firmly, for a few seconds. "Yes." He finally said. "I have confirmed my choice. I want to transfer my second chance to Kade."
"Very well. You are generous, Orbit. Even if you weren't at first, that's alright, because you are now. You care more about someone else's life than your own. I'm sure you'll make Andru and Butch delighted to see Kade officially...to stay."
