"Why the hell are we getting involved in their shit, Corrie? We don't need any more problems on our hands!" Jarson angrily exclaimed.
"Because BlueCoast has been involved with K-Acid for a long time now. We have heard about the evil personalities who have found a way to split themselves into a physical form. We were aware of K-Acid immediately, due to our patrols.
"However, we are still trying to find out why the personalities are being split and what we can do to stop them. We haven't had much success, but we aren't going to give up." It was Phoenix who answered this time.
"But you chose us over BlueCoast." Jarson pointed out, his voice quiet now.
"Yes, but sometimes, your past finds a way to crawl back to you." The black wolf winked.
"Yeah, Jarson, it's not like Phoenix can just forget about his past, especially if it wasn't bad, and was worth experiencing." Corrie told his brother.
"Mhm, my days at BlueCoast were great. I'm so lucky that they still have respect and trust for me. They'll help us, I can assure you. We'll put a stop to K-Acid's insanity, that I can promise you. I'm sorry that it's a little inconvenient that I'm only telling you this now, I never meant to keep it from you, I just had too much going on."
"We forgive you." Jarson grinned slightly.
They went back to fetch Storm and Arrow, who were waiting for them at the mountain to return. They knew it was better to not dash after a troublemaker like K-Acid.
That night, Phoenix, Jarson and Corrie cuddled up in their den, surrounded by some of the BlueCoast members, as well as Storm and Arrow. Awake BlueCoast members also kept an eye on the den, protecting the animals inside.
Corrie, Storm and Arrow were sound asleep. Only Phoenix and Jarson were awake.
"I'm proud of you, Jarson. You are really changing, in a good way. You are controlling your anger-"
"I love you." Jarson said suddenly, instantly brushing up against the wolf. "I know I don't say it, but I really do mean it, Phoenix. I love you. You've always been there for me, and for that, I'm forever loyal to you." Tears began streaming down the cat's cheeks.
Phoenix sighed, putting his chin over Jarson's fragile little body. "Oh, Jarson. I love you too. Always." He gave the cat's head a lick, making him purr and rub his face against Phoenix's.
"You won't tell Corrie about this, right?"
"About you being affectionate and actually admitting that you love me?" Phoenix teased a little.
"Um, yes." Jarson blushed.
"Do you want me to?"
"No, he won't stop babbling about it. You know him, he'll be like, 'I told you, you loved him! I was right, haha!' Or something, ya know?"
