All Might was returning to the room as Arya turned back to the others. There was an awkward silence holding still in the air. She didn't anticipate to get angry toward Hawks in any form while he was there. His laugh still seemed to ring inside her head, making it throb more. However, he kept his mouth shut after Arya displayed her anger. All Might felt the heavy tension.
"What did I miss?" All Might said finally, ending the silence.
"Nothing, are we good to go?" She asked. "I'm ready."
She pushed past Endeavor toward the door, making her exit. Bakugo and Midoriya followed after her, All Might behind them, Endeavor and Hawks not far behind.
They made their way through the long hallways of the hospital. Following the signs, left then right, passing the nurses station. Arya looked around for her nurse that helped her. She wanted to thank her for all she'd done and for her hospitality.
Once they found the elevator, Arya pushed the down button. They all waited patiently for it to come up and meet them. She suddenly felt eyes on her again. She turned around for a second to find Hawks glaring at her again. The slightest smirk on his lips. She quickly turned away from him and put her attention back at the closed doors to the elevator. Seeming to will the doors open. Then it dinged, signaling its arrival, and the doors opened.
A yell came from down the hall. "Miss Arya!"
She turned to the direction of the noise. It was her nurse.
Endeavor pushed past them this time entering the elevator. Hawks didn't follow him this time, he put his hand to his face like a phone, signaling that he would call him later. The elevator doors shut, without him saying goodbye to anyone, closing him inside.
"Thank you again for all your help." Arya said to the nurse.
"It's my pleasure hun, I just wanted to make sure you didn't leave without your prescription." She handed Arya the bag with some pain medicine. Explained take them as needed, but not to exceed more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
Arya heard chatter behind her. She recognized the voices of All Might and Hawks, but tried to concentrate on the nurses instructions.
"We've been able to monitor you for the last several hours, but don't try to sleep for at least another 3 to 4 hours. Your condition seems stable enough, but just in case. And no driving either." The nurse looked around Arya, to the two boys that seemed to be listening as well. Arya turned to meet their gaze too. "I believe I'm leaving you in good hands."
Arya nodded and gave them a smile. Which Midoriya returned. All Might had noticed and smiled too.
The nurse said her goodbyes and walked back down the hall to the nurses station. They had to wait another couple seconds for the elevator to reach them again. They all stepped inside when the door opened, and the silence continued.
Once the doors opened again, they exited the elevator and found the main entrance to the hospital. Outside the hospital, it was a bright sunny day with a light breeze. Arya was happy with the fresh air. The universe just carried on with the pleasantries despite the unfortunate circumstances that morning.
"All right, I'll see you guys later!" Hawks said as his wings flared out and flapped, lift him into air. He sped away. Leaving a gust of air in his wake. Once he was out of sight, she asked All Might something that was bugging her.
"What did he want?"
He looked at her, confused. "You didn't know he was going to be there?" She shook her head.
"It must have been Endeavor then. I didn't realize." He gave her an apologetic look. "He said with the possibility of the League of Villains being involved, he may take an interest in this case."
Great.
They walked to the train station, which was across the street for easy access to the hospital. Once it was just them, Midoriya started asking her questions, which she didn't have any mind in answering. It was strange having someone take such an interest, especially since she took her time trying to be as invisible and inconspicuous as possible.
They entered the train, scanning their tickets. All Might bought a ticket for her on the ride there, scanning it for Arya now. The group made their way to private booth. Arya asked to have the seat by the window. Bakugo slid in next to her. Midoriya took the window seat across from her, and All Might sat next to him.
Midoriya was the first one to speak again.
"So, you took the hero course at U.A. right?"
"For a short time, yes. I felt I was more useful in the support and business courses. I don't really consider my quirk to be an offensive one. I gave up my seat for someone who was more worthy of it."
"But you have your license?"
"Only so I am free to use my quirk. I still use it for my business."
Midoriya nodded, accepting the answer, still deep in thought.
"What is your quirk?" Bakugo asked this time.
She looked at him, lifting an eyebrow. Midoriya looked up at her then, curiously. He wanted to know too, but was unsure about asking so openly.
"Sorry boys, that's a trade secret. Not that I consider you both untrustworthy, but the more it is put out there, the more likely the wrong people find out. It does my job no good if people know how I do it."
"What is your job then?" Bakugo asked.
"Private investigation. Information gathering. Mostly for Hero Agencies. But I will take the occasional private inquiry."
She didn't think it would matter if they knew her line of work. There were many ways to be a private investigator. They could let their minds wonder about what she was capable of and her abilities. They may find out her quirk eventually, but right now, she didn't see it as the right time.
Silence fell over them again as their thoughts took over. The train began to move. With the other stops, it would take about an hour to get back to the school. Arya rested the chin in her hand and stared out the window. Taking in the city as it passed by. This city had been her home since she was born, but she still felt there was so much unexplored. The rest of the country outside the city also. Her thoughts turned back to the fire as the events of the day took its toll. She had recharged her energy that morning as she always did, but how was she so tired all of a sudden. So much had happened, its possible her gained energy was all used when she caught her fall from the second floor. It could have been the peace and quiet compared to the chaos and bustle of the hospital. The pain meds had eased the throbbing in her head and arms. The slow rocking of the train as it made it way down the tracks. She leaned her forehead against the window. It had the slightest hint of warmth from the spring day. Her eyelids grew heavy, as she closed her eyes. Succumbing to the sleep that took over.
