She wanted to be mad at him, wanted to be furious that he was here, again. Yet, she felt a sense of calm when he entered the room this time. It could have been that she almost expected him to show up again, or the little bit of energy she pulled from him earlier was actually reaching for him.
There's no way this is just a coincidence anymore. Right? He did tell All Might he wanted to help. Maybe I should have expected this.
"Hawks," he kept his eyes on her, and the corners of his lips pulled tighter as she said his name. "What are you doing here?"
The principal answered for him. "Hawks arrived here a lot earlier than you did. He has told me that he wants to help, by offering you a place to stay."
"What? Why?"
"To simply put it," Hawks spoke this time. "I just want to help. You'll be safe with me at my place. It's easily one of the most secure places in the city right now. No one knows where it is, I have it heavily monitored, and you can only get to it by flying."
Jeez, does he live in like a bat cave or something?
"That's putting it simply?" She couldn't help the snide remark, still not knowing if she could fully trust him.
He lost his smile. "I have a spare bedroom. And frankly, you have no where to go."
Arya was sure he could see the change of expression on her face, quickly losing the attitude. She looked away from him, pondering his words.
He wasn't wrong. She couldn't stay at the school for the safety of the students. And was a hotel or trying to find another apartment by herself worth the effort right now? It may just get burned down again. And she would happily live on the streets before going back to the Todoroki household. Fuyumi, Natsuo. She missed them all terribly, but she would not live in that house again.
I've had enough of Endeavor for a lifetime.
"Okay." She finally said.
"Wait, really?" Hawks said, surprised.
She looked at him confused, like did he expect her to refuse that offer? Next thing she knew, he flew at her, taking her by surprise. He landed in front of her, grabbing both her hands together in his.
Dammit! Not this again.
She tried to pull away, and he gripped at her tighter. She could his words as he spoke both in her head and aloud. Mixed in were other things he wanted to plan.
"I swear you will not regret this!
I need to get sheets for the guest bed....
It'll be awesome, I know this all may seem kind of weird, but I promise it'll feel like home in no time!
I guess this gives me a reason to finally set up the TV.....
I wonder if she likes chicken.....
Oh, do you like chicken?
Oh, I also need to talk to the chairman about this....but she can wait."
She suddenly felt dizzy, his excited energy was becoming overwhelming, and she had a hard time putting the words together. It all was coming at her too fast.
".....what?"
He got up, releasing her hands finally. Her gaze followed him.
"Don't worry about it, we'll figure it all out later. I'll see you tonight!" He went to the door, pulling it open.
"Wait, tonight?!" She yelled after him. He didn't stop to answer. Hawks left swiftly with a wave as the door closed behind him.
