"All right! I can do this." Arya said, while Hawks and she stood in front of the gates of U.A.

Hawks looked her, a corner of his lips perked up. "Yea? You seem kind of nervous."

"Pshhhhh me? Nervous? No way, not me. And we just flew all the way over here." Arya returned his smirk.

The previous day, they made a plan to replace Arya's normal morning routine. In the morning, they would first walk to the coffee shop together, allowing Arya to get her energy fix, then to grab some coffee. From there, since U.A. was in the next city over, they would fly to the school together. Hawks was happy that she picked slacks to wear for her first day. If she walked out in a skirt, he would have loved to explain to her that he refused to give people a chance to see up her skirt while flying.

Unless it was just for me....

The flight allowed Hawks some extra time to reflect, as well as plan ahead. The day before may not have started out that great, but after their talk, the day ended better than he thought it would. They went grocery shopping and brought back everything they needed to stock the kitchen. Arya had bet him that she could make the take out even better than the restaurant did, which he eagerly accepted. Who ever won the bet, would get an answer to any question, regardless of what it was.

Chicken Katsudon is a pretty typical meal from Japan, and Hawks enjoyed it many times. He wasn't sure that there was much Arya could add to it, but he found that just watching her navigate the kitchen was intriguing enough. An entire new symphony of sounds and scents filled his senses, he hadn't realized what he had been missing. The sound of rice being poured into the rice cooker, the sound of a whisk hitting the mixing bowl(whisky business, as Arya called it), the chefs knife gracefully cutting through vegetables, the sizzle of the breaded chicken being placed in the heated oil, the shimmering ingredients in the Katsudon sauce. The aroma that filled the apartment had his mouth watering well before it was even ready, and overall, Hawks was more than captivated. Arya claimed it was all in the seasoning, and it was made with love. Hawks didn't even have to second guess, he knew she won the bet. Unfortunately, the question she decided on, was one that he had been dreading, but also curious when she was going to ask.

'Hawks, what does Dabi look like?'

He shook his head, trying to push out the memory. He knew he was going to have to meet with them today, Dabi was the last person he wanted to think about.

"You'll be fine. You don't give yourself enough credit. Remember, they are just teenagers. I think you can handle 'em. And if anyone gives you hard time, remember they all shit in a toilet just like the rest of us." Hawks replied with a grin. He placed a hand at the small of her back, to urge her forward, not that he wanted to put distance between them though.

"True, okay! I guess I'll see you back here this afternoon?" Arya started walking through the gate.

"I'll be here!" Hawks waved at her. "See ya later!"

Arya turned back to him, and smiled. She gave him a little wave too. Hawks smiled back, genuinely, and he made a note that she did seem kind of flushed.

Be safe....

Hawks realized that he had become so accustomed to the unfortunate terms of Hero life, dealing with the media, doing his best to keep this personal life out of it, to the point of having no social life. Constant missions, and trying to keep up appearances, he hadn't realized how much it was wearing him down. He had wanted this life, it was the only thing he thought about while training. But now, he had it.

What is supposed to be next for me?

To him, Arya was like a breath of fresh air.
