Since Arya wasn't able to fall back asleep, instead of sulking and letting her mind ramble on, she chose to make better use of her time. Since it was now the weekend, she was glad she didn't have to worry about her first day back at U.A. after last night's events.
She brushed her teeth and showered, letting the hot water wash away the negative energy from her body. The shower in itself was something unexplainable that she had never experienced. The way the top shower head sprayed lightly like warm rain. The pressure from the side nozzles could be changed, giving a massaging effect. Releasing tension from her sore muscles.
Afterward, she changed into fresh clothes. A t-shirt and jeans being her usual go to. The t-shirt was mostly to cover the marks on her shoulder, otherwise a tanktop would have been just as good. She put away her belongings, placing her new clothes into the dresser, arranging her toothbrush and toiletries in their proper place. She made the bed, and fixed the sheets. Afterward, she decided to step out of her room finally, and into the rest of the apartment, trying her best not to make much noise.
In the kitchen, she found her food from the previous night. Putting it on a plate, she heated it up in the microwave, and ate like she ravenous. To her surprise, it was really good. But she was also really hungry. She found Hawks had some leftovers too. Surprisingly, there was some chicken left in the takeout container. She decided she would try to make him breakfast to apologize.
The shower may have helped with the soreness her body carried thanks to the memory, but her mind still held most of the pain. She blamed herself for the way Hawks had acted, and she understood that he was probably blindsided by the topic of his past. She knew she would have felt the same way. Deflecting was just a way of protecting one's self.
By this time, it was only 4:30 AM, there was still plenty of time to kill before making him breakfast. She found a notepad and a pen, and she made the list of items to stock the kitchen. Deciding she might bet with Hawks that she could make last night's takeout even better than the restaurant did. She chuckled to herself. It sounded like a fun, harmless bet. Then she imagined them both together grocery shopping. The concept seemed so domestic.
Would he take me with him? Or would he rather us not be seen together?
She pushed the thoughts away, trying not to think about it, still not sure about how everything was going to be. After he consoled her, she was left with an a strange feeling of security. There were very few that have seen her in that state. Then there was the way his energy mixed with hers, and how he reacted to her touch. And he just....walked away like nothing happened. Which she didn't blame him for, but it gave her a weird feeling. Maybe, he didn't really feel that way. Maybe his reaction to her touch was all in her head. Giving her a false sense of an attachment she hadn't really felt before, except with one other person. Plus, between Hawks and her, they barely knew each other. But remembering the sensation of his hands and feathers on her caused a flutter between her legs.
Maybe my mind and body are just playing tricks on me......
That would be a real nasty joke....
Yeah, pussy, I'm talking to you!
Shortly after, she was able to find another distraction by looking through the books on his bookcase. There were tons that she had never heard of before, but found one that peeked her interest, pulling her in as early as the first couple pages. It ended up keeping her occupied for hours.
Honestly, it was a book that she didn't expect to find Hawks to enjoy, so she started wondering if maybe it was someone else's. The book was lewd in all the right ways, making her mind and heart beat race again. Escaping into a different world than the one she lived in. The events of last night suddenly felt just like that, a memory. Far away.
