"Here's your To-Go order, miss."

"Oh! Thank you." The server smiled, then set a take-out bag down in front of her. Arya had lost track of time since she arrived at the coffee shop. The shop this time was called the Magic Bean, and it also had an attached deli. She ordered her usual coffee and a sandwich to eat in the meantime, and thinking about the bird waiting for her, she decided to get one To-Go for him.

Not like he really deserves it.....but he didn't really eat breakfast so.....

The weather outside was warm, and sunny. She chose a table outside to enjoy the light breeze, and to indulge in her book some more. Every so often, she had to put the book down, and take a break. Touch some grass, take a breather. It was starting to become the kind of book one shouldn't be reading in public, but she was finding that she didn't care that much. There was no one around her, so she was able to just enjoy her alone time.

The walk to the coffee shop allowed for her to get the energy her body desperately needed, and she was feeling much better. The coffee and food was more for her stomach and head. Literal sustenance. Actual hunger, like for food, was something that the life force couldn't curve. No matter how much she took. The hunger for energy was a different feeling all together, more like a craving. Like someone needs a cigarette to get their nicotine fix, or that urge to read another chapter no matter how much sleep they may lose. Pulling from plants and trees helped curve that craving, but its not ever quite as satisfying. She found herself twirling the gold chain between her fingers, while nervously thinking.

Hawks made his way back into her thoughts again. The way she almost launched herself at him after he slammed his fist on the island. What would have happened after that, she had absolutely no idea. She could have immobilized him in seconds, and have him completely drained in less than a minute. Punched him in his beautiful, stupid face because he didn't understand in that moment she was thinking in his best interests.

Kissed him? Unlikely.

Bitch.....quite lying to yourself....

She realized then, her living with him meant potentially exposing Hawks to his traumatic past, reliving it all over again. Just from her being there. And Hawks' energy was near irresistible as it was, the want to pull from him could get worse and worse. She would end up living through his experiences as well, even with her own trauma. It was a double edged sword. She was starting to realize, that maybe, moving in with Hawks was not a good idea.

Then, like on cue, she started to feel something tickling between her tits.

what the fuck....

Hawks' feather wiggled itself out of her shirt, and suspended in mid air for a moment. Oh you little....He tricked me.... She wasn't sure why she hoped this one wasn't like his other feathers. But he did say it was like an extension of him. The feather flew out, pulling on the chain at her neck several times, then tapped at her wrist. Like to say 'check the time'. She pulled the chain toward her, and grabbed the feather by the quill. Impatient fucker....

The feather tried to wiggle its way out of her grasp, and she just tightened her grip. She looked around her then, to find there was still no one nearby, luckily. No one to see her fighting with a fucking feather.

Instinctively, she peered up toward the sky and nearby buildings. There were no clouds, just open blue sky, and to her surprise there wasn't anything, or anyone, hovering around. Then something caught her eye on top of one of the nearby buildings across the street. On the roof, it looked like a gargoyle perched in the corner. It was impossibly still, but there were no other 'gargoyles'. And through the sunlight, she saw a hint of shimmery red.
