"So, you must be the famous Alexander?" Mom queried as we all sat down the table. Dad was at the head while mom was at his left. Olen was his right whilst I sat beside Olen and Alexander was at my right. Oliver however, was sitting beside mom.
"Yes, Mrs. De Laurel." He nodded.
"Oh. Please call me Clara." Mom chuckled lightly. "Mrs. De Laurel is way too old for me."
"But you are old, mom." Olen, Oliver, and I said at the same time. Mom chuckled, then feigned sadness.
"What are your intentions for my daughter?" Dad raised a brow.
Alexander cleared his throat before talking. "I want to take care of her and love her." He stated simply. "And perhaps marry her when time comes."
I looked at him in with a shocked face, as he was returning a smile, making me smile back.
"How did you guys meet?" Mom questioned, making the both of us stiffen up.
"We met at a party," I half lied and half told the truth. I mean, we did but, it was just not direct.
"Really?" Oliver raised a brow, knowingly that I was half lying.
"Mhm," I nodded, holding Alexander's hand from under the table.
"What course are you taking? And what school?" Dad asked once again.
"I'm currently taking Political Science in Carmen University, sir." He answered.
"Then you'll proceed to Law School, or something?" Dad questioned again.
I massaged Alexander's hand under the table, to help him relax a bit.
"I don't know yet, sir." He stated.
"You are not yet sure about your studies yet you are sure about my daughter?" He raised a brow once again.
"Yes sir," Alexander stated coolly. "But I promise, that I will still prioritize my studies while taking care of your daughter."
"Then that, couldn't make me more happier," Dad smiled. "Welcome to the family, son."
I was glad, that dad was not hard so on him, that he accepted Alexander to the family so easily. Despite the fact that he was a tad bit hard on him at the beginning, he was still happy to accept him, and that made me happy.
"Well then, let's eat!" Mom giddily piped in. "I prepared all kinds of food. Feel free to stuff yourselves."
"Of course," Alexander smiled. "Thank you, Clara."
"Oh, that's nothing." Mom chuckled. "Now that you're a part of the family, you can feel free to come here and eat."
"I will see to it." He laughed.
After that, we all ate in silence, only hearing the clanking of the silverware and plates when colliding. We then on proceeded to the living room, where my family decided to embarrass me in front of Alexander.
"So, Alexander, would you like to see Olivia's baby pictures?" Mom asked him. "And perhaps, maybe even stories when she was little."
"Mom!" I yelled, embarrassed. "Don't!" I covered my face, that was already heating up.
"Aww baby," Alexander side hugged me, then removed my hands from my face. Trust me, it made my face heat up more. "Don't get embarrassed." He chuckled lightly. "Unless it's really embarrassing and I have to laugh, or something!"
