"De Laurel!" Coach JD shouted.
"Yes coach?" I asked.
"What are you doing? You are one of our best players and the team captain and now, you can't even serve a ball right?!" He scolded in an asking manner.
"I'm sorry coach, I just woke up in the other side of the bed." I apologized.
It's been a week since that run in with Carson and I can't really get it off my head. It's been bothering me that he might come back and do the same thing again.
"Girls! A short meeting real quick, please." Coach JD shouted from the bench.
My teammates and I quickly ran off to the bench where he was sitting.
"Yes, coach?" I asked him once we were all at the bench.
"As you know, the yearly University Competitions are just around the corner. We have been the top volleyball team for over a decade and we plan to keep it that way. So, in order to be practiced and trained more, I made some arrangements with the Carmen University Volleyball Team to have a practice match tomorrow. They will also tell you a few tips and stuff that will help you improve your game." He explained.
"Wait. Isn't that a male team?" One of my team mates, Mira asked.
"Yes." Coach nodded. "I specifically chose the male team for you to be more prepared."
"I heard their captain is hot." Mira giggled.
"Gross." I muttered.
I scoffed and went to the court to practice my spike and serve with Coach while the other girls was just fawning over the CUVT Captain.
"So Selene, do you have a boyfriend?" My dad suddenly asked which made me choke on my food.
"No, I don't dad." I replied seconds after coughing.
"Bummer." I heard him mutter.
"Why?" I asked.
"No reason." He shrugged.
"Why don't you ask Oliver?" I turned to my twin which made him choke on his food too.
"Me? I don't have one. Modeling is my priority right now. I don't have time for that kind of stuff." He said.
Dad was about to talk when the doorbell rang. I looked at Oliver in a panicking way which he immediately understood why.
"I'll go get it." Mom smiled.
"SURPRISE!" A familiar voice yelled a minute later.
Me and Oliver quickly shot up our seat and turned around.
"OLEN!" We yelled as we tackled him to the floor like little kids.
"Ouch." Olen groaned as we retreated from the tackle.
"You're here!" I clapped my hands like a little kid.
"No, I'm in Brazil." He replied sarcastically.
"Come on Stephen! I did not prepare all these food just for you guys to bicker." Dad laughed.
"Mmm." He licked his lips. "Mi favorito."
