"Bro! I heard you're going back to New York?" Alessandro asked, giving me a mischievous smile.
I was currently on a facetime call with him, but my gut tells me it's not a good idea.
"Yeah," I nodded. "It's Ayana's birthday, isn't it? I want to give her a surprise. I've been planning that we have a grand party."
"Okay. I can get the best party planners, the best caterers, and the best stylists." He nodded.
"I'll take care of the stylist. I want to do something to her dress."
"Well, you can just request it to mom. Isn't she the one designing the dress?" He asked, looking at me with a tilted head.
"'No," I admitted. "I have other plans, fratello."
"If you say so," He said whilst shrugging.
The next week, I headed to New York. My family was at the airport, waiting for me.
"Jofiel!" My mom exclaimed, giving me a hug. "I've missed you."
"Mom, you literally saw me two weeks ago." I rolled my eyes, causing her to flick my forehead.
"Sta 'zitto," She scolded.
After that, I headed to my house. I haven't been there since I left her.
Since I left Olivia.
I sighed, looking at little traces of her. Her favorite shirt of mine was folded at the edge of the bed, the hoodies that she stole was sprawled out in the walk in closet, and some of her jewelry were in the dresser.
When I got back from Spain, I headed back to Italy. Pops was already weak, so I couldn't leave his side. I was with him, until his last breath.
As I was into deep thought, I hadn't noticed that I was standing in the middle of my room, staring into nothing. I sighed, heading over downstairs where it was quiet.
I shook my head, headed to my car before heading to the mall.
"Catch that man in the hood! He took my bag!" I heard an all too familiar voice shout. When I looked to where it came from, it was her, it was Olivia.
But, that wasn't the least of my problems, no. I looked at the culprit who had just passed in front of me. Like a normal person would do, I tackled him, taking the bag from his grip.
I stood up, walked over to Olivia who was catching her breath.
"May I please have my bag back please?"
I handed it to her, still shocked at how mature she looked now.
"You know, you should be holding on to your belongings. You might never know when you might lose them." I said, not knowing what to do.
I saw that she was losing balance, so I steadied her. She said she was fine, before walking away. I stood there, stunned, not knowing what to do. How is this my reaction after seeing her again? Stunned. Frozen.
"Mister?" A young lady's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Yes?" I looked at the girl who was holding a shopping bag that I was holding to earlier.
"You dropped this."
"Thanks,"
After that little incident, I headed back to the main house where everyone was at.
