AIR TEMPLE ISLANDAsami was visiting the temple as they were hosting a dinner. She didn't know whether there was a special occasion or if it was just for no reason.
The heiress was standing outside the temple door. She overheard that Korra had visited the temple in the past day. Which meant that she might be there inside, joining them in the temple.
"You gonna open the door or are you just going to stand there?"
Asami turned around to see who was talking to her. She sighed with relief when it was just Opal.
"I was just about to go inside." lied Asami.
Opal raised a brow. "Are you sure? Cuz you looked like there was something bothering you."
"I'll be honest with you." said Asami. "Korra might be in there."
Opal was a little confused. "Aren't you and Korra on good terms?"
"Yeah we are."
The two turned around to be welcomed by Korra. But she wasn't alone, she had a guy who wasn't familiar besides her.
Asami couldn't lie and say that he wasn't attractive. He was a slightly taller then the heiress and had brown sleeked back hair. He was a little tanned and his eyes were as blue as Korra's.
"Oh hey Korra!" Opal went to her and gave her a short hug. "Whose this?"
"I'm Korra's boy-"
Korra instantly shut him up by covering his mouth with her hands. "He's my friend."
Asami felt like her heart was being ripped out of her and then crushed right in front of her. What did she expect? After being away from each other for so long, Korra was bound to find someone new.
Opal looked at Asami and saw the sad eyes she has. She felt bad for the heiress, so she did what was best. "Well me and Asami will be going inside. You should tour your 'BOYFRIEND' around the temple for a while."
Korra wasn't blind and saw the change in emotions on Asami's face. She didn't want to hurt the girl on purpose and she wasn't planning on
Korra kicked Yaran's leg. "Don't do that again."
"Ow!" He held his leg as he yelled in pain. "What did I do wrong."
"Your not my boyfriend, your just a friend. And plus it would be pretty weird for us to date, I'm 22 and your 17. Your a minor." snapped Korra.
"I know, I'm just messing with you." Yaran grinned goofily. "So was that the girl you told me about. The one you so called 'love'.
Korra blushed as she remembered telling Yaran about Asami.
...
Korra and Yaran were in Ba Sing Se. After the two helped a couple of citizens passing by with their dirty work, they were offered to go drinking with them.
Korra didn't let Yaran drink as she didn't want to be responsible for letting a minor drink. So she tried to deny it. But Yaran kept being pushy and pleaded for her to let them go.
In the end, Korra and him ended up going. But Yaran made a promise to her that he wouldn't touch any alcohol.
Inside the bar, there were people of all ages. Whilst Korra was drinking with the adults, Yaran managed to find teenagers his age that he could chill with.
"Oh my. Ma'am are you okay?" said the bartender to Korra who had just slammed her head against the table.
"I'm great!" she stuck her thumb up.
The bartender shook his head and took the alchohol besides her. "I think that's enough for you tonight. There are a lot of shady people outside that might take advantage of you whilst your drunk."
"It's okay! I'll just beat them up and then they won't mess with me." Korra held out a fist into the air.
The sight made the bartender giggle a bit. Korra didn't know how funny she looked at the moment until Yaran came besides her and laughed loudly.
"What are you laughing at?" Korra frowned.
"Nothing, nothing." he was still laughing. "Anyway, let's go home. It's getting late."
"Do you know him?" asked the bartender.
Korra nodded rapidly. "Yeah! He's my best friend!"
"Okay then. Have a safe journey you two." said the bartender.
"Thank you!!" replied Korra.
Yaran and Korra made their way back to the place they were staying at. It was quiet difficult for Yaran, as Korra start bending random elements at random times. And on top of that, she kept stumbling and tripping every two seconds.
"We are finally home." sighed Yaran. "You were a pain in the ass!"
"Thank you!" Korra jumped on her bed and laid down. "Thank you so much Yaran!"
"No problem. Aren't you gonna uh.. wash yourself before you go to bed? It's bed to sleep with all that alcohol in your system."
Korra shook her head. "No I will do that tomorrow."
"Okay." Yaran headed for the bathroom to get himself cleaned.
When he came out, he saw that Korra was lying down on her back like a starfish. But that wasn't what caught his attention. It was that there was a single tear steaming down Korra's left eye.
"Hey!" he ran to her in an instant. "Are you okay? Is something wrong? Did someone hurt you?" he questioned her.
Korra snapped out of the thoughts she was thinking and realised that she was crying. "I'm crying?" she faintly touched her tears and felt her hands being wet.
"Yeah. You know if somethings wrong and you want to talk to someone then you can always talk to me." said Yaran.
"It's just that.." Korra sighed. "This might sound stupid but I miss my ex lover. I love them so much."
"That fire bender boy?" asked Yaran. "I remember seeing you and him at the festival a couple of years ago."
Korra giggled at the clueless guy besides her. "No not him. My most recent lover."
"Did he hurt you?" frowned the guy.
"No.." Korra was hesitant for a second. "They are a girl."
Yaran looked at her and blinked a couple of times before bursting into laughter. "Why did you look like you were afraid to tell me that she was a girl? Love is love."
"Sorry." Korra blushed in embarrassment. "I just miss her a lot and it feels like the universe doesn't want us together."
"Well.." stated Yaran. "Why do you feel like that?"
"We had a vacation to the spirit world and the day we came back there was already an issue. And then after a week we ended up breaking up even though we both loved each other. And when the issue was resolved, I ended up leaving her and coming here to explore." ranted Korra.
"Love isn't suppose to be perfect. It's normal for couples to get into fights, it just makes your bond stronger." Yaran gave Korra a cup of water for her to drink. "Drink this. Take a couple of deep breathes and go to sleep."
"Thank you Yaran." Korra smiled at the guy.
