AIR TEMPLE ISLAND

Mako chuckled suspiciously, whilst Asami stared at him with disbelief. She couldn't process what she was hearing right now. Mako and Korra had been secretly meeting up without anyone knowing?

Asami took a moment to accept it before she said the first thing that was in her mind. "A-are you and Korra.. like d-dating again?" her voice quivered.

Mako assumed that Asami wasn't serious and that she was joking around. Unintentionally, he responded with something that deeply impacted the girl. "What if I tell you we are?"

It was pretty obvious that Mako was lying, and that he was just messing with her. But Asami didn't quite get the gist. Those six words that he had said crushed her little heart.

She left like she had been run over by a train. Her lips trembled and her eyes soon started to water. It was pretty evident that she was going to break down in the next couple of seconds.

Mako started to panic. He saw how quickly she got upset. "I'm just kidding Asami. Please don't cry I promise I was just messing with you." he continued to plead the girl to stop. "I'll tell you everything just don't cry."

Asami harshly brushed the tears of her face. "Y-you promise to tell me everything."

"Yeah I do, just don't cry."

The two sat down on the nearest bench. Asami eventually ended up crying, but it was good since she needed to everything out of her system. Mako just sat there awkwardly and let her do her thing.

When she did stop crying (which was after a long time) she told Mako that it was he could go ahead and explain everything to her.

"So where do I start.." Mako rubbed his chin whilst thinking. "I guess you probably know by now that Korra is in Republic City. And that person you saw during your conference was her."

"I knew it was her." mumbled Asami.

Seconds later, he realised that he broke his promise with Korra. "Oh no.. I shouldn't have told you this." He slammed his face in his hands. "I broke my promise with Korra."

"What was the promise you made with her?" asked Asami curiously.

"Uhh.. please don't be mad. But I promised not to tell you or anyone that Korra was in the city."

Asami sighed. Was Korra avoiding her? She knew that there could be an explanation to why Korra was avoiding her but just knowing that out everyone she chose to meet Mako first kind of hurt her heart.

"I know your probably thinking 'Why would Korra meet up with Mako first?'." chuckled Mako. "It was unintentional. I happened to be on duty and there was a case which involved her-"

"Is she okay?" quickly questioned Asami.

"Yeah, she's alright." reassured Mako. "You know, I accidentally stumbled across her one morning. She bolted out her door when she found out that your home was a couple minutes away. But I forgot to tell her that you were at a conference. I guess after all she did manage to see you."

"Wow.." was all Asami could say.

She sat there in a trance. Her mind was accepting everything that Mako had told her. Maybe Korra did want to see her. The way Mako told her that Korra bolted out the door, made her a little happy. But she probably lost that chance now. I mean, if Korra was okay with her, then she wouldn't have ran away.

Mako started yawning. Shortly after, he headed inside, as he needed his beauty sleep. Asami stayed outside for a couple of minutes before she went inside herself.

She quickly collected all her stuff from the guest room, before heading out. Her body was telling her that she needed to go to a bar and drink away her problems.

She used one of the speed boats to get back to the mainland. It took her less then 15 minutes.

REPUBLIC CITY

Her estate was quite far, but she knew that she needed to change her attire. She couldn't go to a bar looking like the way she was. People would easily recognise her and just like that, it would be on the headlines of the latest newspaper.

Although it was around 3am, she did manage to find a taxi. When she returned to her estate, it was quieter then usual. Normally, she would be asleep at this time, so she wouldn't know what her workers would be doing. But now she knew that they would be slacking off. She made a mental note, to fire them when she comes back later.

She swiftly changed into loose black sweat pants and a red hoodie. She wiped off all her make up, besides her signature lipstick.

Getting to the club was no trouble. It wasn't far from her home, so there was no issues with getting back

Once she stepped foot into there, the intoxicated smell of alcohol hit her. She looked around, and saw a load of creepy old men staring at her. It sent shivers to her spine but she immediately headed for the bar.

She kept on drinking, and drinking. Even the bartender was shocked by how much she drank. And it was one of the stronger alcohols which she kept ordering.

"Why do you have too hide from me Korra..??" Asami repeated.

Throughout the entire time she was there, she kept on saying Korra's name. The alcohol clearly made her mind all messed up. The only thing that she could think about was her and Mako's conversation earlier.

"Korra.. please come back to me."

Asami knew that she had to go to work in a couple of hours, so she decided to pack it up. On top of that, she felt sick. Like she was going to vomit any moment.

A couple of men approached her but she ignored them all. They were all atleast above 30. From the bar to the exit, they kept on pestering her until they got annoyed and returned to their seat.

All except one.

She limped her way back home, until she tripped backwards over a rock. The heiress just laid there, thinking about everything that had happened. She was a little sober now but her body felt weak.

"I hope Korra finds me." said Asami to herself.

The heiress felt that someone was watching her. She tried lifting her body however, she had failed. Asami started to sweat badly, when she heard loud footsteps. She tried to lift her body one more time, but it resulted in her hitting her head on the hard black concrete.

What happened next was a blur.
