Albedo | Regrets (Hurt/Comfort)

"Is.. Everything alright?"
"Yes."
"You've been laying in that snow for about 30 minutes at this point." Albedo states, to which you only whine and turn to look at him.
"I.. Fucked up."

"Do you want to talk about it then?" He asks, handing you a cup of fresh coffee. You mumble a quick "Thanks" and look around you once more.
After you admitted everything isn't actually allright, Albedo invited you to his cave with nothing more than "You will catch a cold like this".
You can sense him sitting down next to you, giving you a space to talk, but not pressuring you into anything. If there is anything in this world you absolutely adore, it's his never ending patience.
You slowly sip your coffee and then you let out a long sigh.
You decide to tell him everything.
About how you met Sucrose and told her about the Cocogoat, giving her some hair from a normal goat as an evidence. You thought it'll be nothing more than some innocent prank with no consequences.
What you didn't expect was to see her after 2 days, holding a tower of papers labeled as "Cocogoat Research". You could see Sucrose hasn't slept much because of it, but she still talked about everything so enthusiastically, you didn't have the heart to tell her the truth.
"And now she wants me to talk with Qiqi again and give her every new information I can get." After those words, you hide your face in hands.

Suddenly, you can feel Albedo's hand on your knee.
"If it makes you feel better, I can tell her the truth." For maybe the first time in your life, his voice makes your heart drop in your stomach.
"But she will hate me, won't she."

"It's Sucrose we're talking about. I'm sure she will not hate you. After all, she's also an alchemist. Let this be a lesson for her. She needs to start questioning the things she hears."

"But I'm her friend! I shouldn't have lied to her."
You register Albedo moving his hand away. Before you can even process the loss of the touch, you feel both of his warm hands on your cheeks, slowly turning your head to look at him.

"Tell me. Was making her feel bad your goal?"
You just shake your head, still not being able to look him in the eyes.

"Actually, I was planning to tell her the truth the next day, after she figures out it's just a normal hair." You decide to explain.

"But that time never happened."
Albedo deducts and then he.... Laughs?
"Classic Sucrose."
The shock of hearing his laugh makes you finally look at him. After seeing his big blue eyes filled with so much love for you, you quickly forget why were you so scared to look at him in the first place.
"Don't worry. Everything will be alright."
You always took this type of words with a big grain of salt but this time, you fully believe it.
