Albedo & Treasure Hoarder | Important work

"Finally home.."
You sigh, dragging your feet to your dreamed destination.
Today's commissions were more difficult than you expected and you almost passed out right before Katheryne.
You finally turn the doorknob, cuddling with your boyfriends being the only thing on your mind.
Despite the tiredness you've felt, you speed up a little, wanting to see your boyfriends as fast as possible.

You don't need to think hard about where Albedo is. And, where is Albedo, there's Alexander too.
You get to open the laboratory's door faster than you'd expected, and your gaze falls on the two men of your dreams.
It was apparent from the first glance Albedo was working on some new experiment and Alexander was thus asked to help with preparing the ingredients.
It doesn't take long for them to acknowledge your presence, Albedo with a simple "Welcome back" and Alexander with a little nod.

You feel your heart sink at the way they greeted you, not even turning from their work.
You quickly shake off this feeling and decide to dramatically yawn.
"Man, today's commissions were harder than I thought."
You look at the men before you, hoping to see some reaction.

"That must sucked."
Alexander states without even stopping to look at you, while Albedo only hums in agreement, looking at the vial in his hands more closely.
From the way Albedo sounded, you doubt he even heard you.

"Come on, didn't you miss me?"

"Of course we missed you." Albedo assures you, finally turning around to give you a quick glance, "We are just a little busy at this moment."

"Yea, a li'l bit." Alexander agrees, but instead of giving you some kind of attention, he turns to Albedo. "You want me to chop this mist flower too?"

"Yes, but on smaller bits than this."
And just like this, the conversation ended yet again.

"I'm really tired now. Can't you just go back to your work later?" You ask desperately, to which Albedo shakes his head.
"You should know this isn't something you can just finish later."

"Go take a rest."

Realizing your bitter defeat, you decide to listen to Alexander and turning on your heels, you leave the room.

You know it's rather selfish and quite unreasonable to feel so hurt because of this, but you can't help it.
You're tired, every inch of your body hurts and you feel like crying.

After finally getting into your shared bedroom, you promptly throw yourself on the bed, letting your tears fall freely.

There is no need to feel sad because of such thing.
The logical part of your mind screams, but your heart refuses to listen.
If they came tired from work, I'd give them my full attention in an instant.

That's because you can postpone your work.
The logical part argues again.

Your inner monologue is interrupted by the sudden sound of Alexander's voice.
"Albedo finally let me go. He'll be here in a minute." You quickly turn around to look at him. He smiles at you, but after noticing your wet cheeks and red eyes, his smile vanishes.

"Hey, is everything okay?"
Before you can even say something, he's already on the left side of the bed, holding your face in his hands.
I'm fine, just tired.
You want to say, but no words come up. You feel new tears rushing out and you decide to pull him closer.
After a moment, you feel his rough hands draw circles on your back in a soothing matter.

You don't even hear another footsteps getting closer, when suddenly another pair of arms hugs you.

"What happened?" Albedo asks you in the voice so low, you feel a shiver traveling your spine.

It doesn't take him long to put two and two together, to which he sighs and hugs you tighter.

"I'm really sorry for acting so cold. I just-"

"You just had to finish the experiment, I get it." You interrupt him, giving him a small smile.

"-Yes, but that's not the point. I should at least tell you when I'll be done."
You don't need to see his face to know he's really sorry.

"But, now we're all yours~" Alexander purrs, and you roll your eyes at him.

"So, what was it about your commissions?" The red-haired man asks you, resting his head on your lap.
You lean on Albedo, and with a content smile, you start to talk about your day..
