You sigh and quicken your pace.
As an Adventurer, you got used to Treasure Hoarders pretty quickly.
After all, most of them don't pose much of a threat - well, if you don't happen to find any treasure, that is.
Most of the time, they just watch you from a far, just like vultures, waiting for their next meal in the form of another valuable treasure.
Despite you being watched like this every day, it's still just as unnerving as the first time it happened.
Thankfully, you're already close to your destination and you can sense the Hoarders slowly disappearing.
You jog a little, seeing the little cave you know so well.
"I'm ba-" You start, but immideally stop after seeing an unknown man instead.
The man in question flinches at hearing your voice and turns around.
The first thing you notice is the all telling scarf that hides his mouth - Treasure Hoarder's sign.
"Wait, what are you doing-!"
Before you can even finish the sentence, the Treasure Hoarder puts something in his pocket and sprints out of the cave.
"HEY! Give it back, RIGHT NOW!" You scream, trying to catch up to him.
You run like this for some time, your body powered only by an adrenaline.
You don't even think about the possibility of him fighting back or worse, getting back to his gang.
He stole something from Albedo, and that's the only thing that matters.
You need to get it back, whatever it takes.
You're sure Albedo wouldn't be angry in the slightest if something went missing, and that makes it even worse.
After you've seen his reaction at having his sketchbook almost destroyed, you took it upon yourself to show him the things in his life aren't just 'things that can be replaced', even the most ordinary ones.
Thus, letting this man escape could ruin everything you've been working on.
When you start slowing down, the red-haired man stops, trying to catch a breath.
"S-so, here-here we- are. The thing- thing you stole, give- give it- back." You finally catch up to him, completely out of breath.
"Ha, don't think I-"
Suddenly, you hear a loud crack under you and both of you exchange an 'oh shit' look.
You realize way too late you stood right on a frozen lake and before you know it, you're already under the ice.
The cold water makes your body go into a shock.
'This is it.' You think to yourself, seeing the bubbles all around you.
The last thing you remember is someone putting their arms around you.

"Y/N? Y/N, wake up!"
If someone shaking your body didn't make you wake up, then the voice surely would.
You quickly open your eyes, just to see Albedo with worried expression right in front of you.
"Wh-uh?"
You look around, trying to remember what happened.
Oh, that's right.
You immediately sit up, trying to see if he's still near, but as expected, he is already gone.
"The Treasure Hoarder! He was in your lab and stole something, so I tried to stop him." You explain the situation, still looking for some footprints,
"He got away tho. I'm really sorry for that."
Albedo just sighs and shakes his head.
"You know I don't really care about these things, right?"
'But that's the point.' You think to yourself, not having the energy to voice your thoughts.
"I'm just- glad you're okay."
Albedo pulls you into a hug, when your gaze falls onto a firepit.
You don't remember seeing a firepit around here before.
"I've been looking for you for 2 hours. Your team must be worried already." Albedo states, to which you only nod.
You couldn't care less about your team anyway - you're the only one climbing this mountain everyday, after all.
"You're right. I should get back." You admit, still looking at the firepit.
"I'll walk you to your camp then, if you want." He offers with a small smile.
"No, I'm fine. It's getting quite dark, you should go back too." You feel bad for turning down his offer like this, but there is no other way.
