"Boo." She had a sinister high pitched laugh. Kageyama had frozen in his tracks.
"A ghoul?" He tried to speak but he was so scared it ended up being more of a whisper."Aww come on I thought you would at least try to run away do you have a death wish or something?" She started circling Kageyama and smelling him. She placed her hands on his waist
"So tender."
"So soft."She laughed again and as she let go Kageyama took his chance to run. "That's more like it this is a lot more fun." She laughed and released her Kagune which was bright red and lashed around like whips. One of them hit Kageyama and he was tossed to the ground. He hit his head on the wall and tried to pull himself up but everything was blurry.
"Aww that ended so fast you were no fun after all." She jumped down from the rooftop and landed right in-front of Kageyama's face. She leaned in and bit his shoulder taking out a chunk.
Kageyama screamed in pain and tried to push her away using his other arm. She grabbed his wrist and forced him against the ground.
"It's no use now." She smiled and let out a squeaky laugh."Help!" Terror echoed throughout his voice. "Anybody help!"
Teeth pierced his stomach and it felt like his organs were being squeezed out. Blood filled his mouth and his vision started to go fuzzy.
"Aww you're leaving me already?" She loomed over his face, her mouth drenched in his blood. "Well before you go my names Koda it was nice knowing ya."Just as everything was about to go dark lightning like, neon bolts flew over his head as someone grabbed his body and flung the girl off of him. They shielded him with what looked like a colourful wing of some sort.
"Don't touch him!" The person screamed.
Kageyama had just enough strength left to make out the people around him. Noya, Tsukishima, Suga and Hinata.
"Hinat-a?" Kageyama looked up at him but didn't have enough strength to keep his head up. The last thing he saw was a tall blonde haired guy who looked like he had butterfly wings.
Seven days later Kageyama woke up in the hospital hooked up to IV lines and other machines. Doctors and Nurses flooded in dosing him up with pain medications and drips.
"You're so lucky to be alive we didn't think you would make it." The Nurse propped Kageyama upright.
"Hina-Hinata." Kageyama muttered. The nurse looked at him confused. "Wheres Hinata?"
"Oh the ginger boy? He left about an hour ago. He's been with you pretty much the whole time."A doctor and nurse walked in around fifteen minutes later. They were different from the other people who had been treating him. They wore blue clothes instead of white and they dressed a lot more like scientists rather than doctors. They asked a lot more questions about his appetite and how he was feeling.
"I'm sorry but I'm really tired right now can you save your questions for tomorrow?" The doctors looked at each other and left without saying a word.
That night Kageyama's dad dropped in and left him some food but he couldn't eat it. It all tasted weird. Like something was rotting. All the drinks tasted like Gasoline. The food even smelled bad. In the end he gave up. He didn't want to keep puking up his food. He had just had an organ transplant it was probably messing with him.
The next morning:
"Hinata?" Kageyama mumbled as he slowly lifted his head to see the ginger haired boy sat in the chair next to him smiling."Morning." I said moving my chair closer to him.
Kageyama grabbed my hands and pulled me in for a hug. "Careful Kageyama you'll hurt yourself." I wrapped my arms around him gently. He cried into my shoulder."I'm sorry." He said over his tears.
"For what?"
"For leaving that night without you. This wouldn't have happened if I had just stayed with you."
"No, no Kageyama this is not your fault don't you dare blame yourself." I felt my voice crack at the sound of him crying. We slowly pulled away from the hug and I sat back in my chair. "Hey Kageyama what do you remember from that night?"
"Nothing really. Only you holding me. I hardly remember anything that happened that day. The doctor said my memories will come back eventually.""Have you been eating." I wanted to ask about this but didn't want to pry. I was just worried about my friend he looked so pale and fragile. Like he could break at any second.
"No I haven't been. Everything tastes horrible. I don't know how to explain it." I gazed at Kageyama with wide eyes.
"Don't tell me they used ghoul organs in the transplant? Don't tell me he's one of those experiments. No those are only stories. He'll be fine its just because of the transplant." That's what I thought.
At that moment the two shady doctors walked in and asked me to leave for the rest of the day.
They asked Kageyama more questions about his appetite. "I don't know how to explain it Doctor, it's like everything I eat is rotten." Kageyama said holding back his urge to puke.
The Doctors exchanged a smug glance.
"We're sure it's just a side affect of the organ transplant you will be discharged tomorrow morning."*Sorry for any grammar mistakes in this I wrote this at like 4am.*
