These reviews are going to be extensive. Not some summary of your book to tell readers, "hey it was a cool idea." We don't want that! We don't do glorified summaries here.
What am I going to include in my review?
Grammar. Let your groans out now.
- spelling mistakes
- punctuation
- sentence structure
Paragraphs. Do you want your story to be readable?
- one clear idea
- dialogue
- readability
- organization
Characterization. You better hold your characters close!
- cliches
- description
- depth
Style. Do you have one? Have you adopted one? Are you trying to find one?
- syntax
- word choice
- tone
- mood
Plot. Remember those annoying plot graphs in school?
- setting
- conflict
- events
This list is just to give you an idea of what might be included. Each section can be expanded upon in a review. Since everyone's writing style is different, I will approach each review a bit differently. However, just because you have a "modern style" doesn't mean you can escape the basics of good writing.
