Word count... 1568

His fingers slid loosely around my waist, his face lit up with mute loathing.

All I could do was stare back at him as I tried to keep my head from snapping backwards. The lamps flame continued to flicker, and it had already felt like I was here for an hour.

In reality, it was only under 10 minutes I had been here in his office.

Maybe even less than 6.

" Why so silent now?" I asked, glaring at him as he huffed down to me.

Levi's eyes carried to the left, as he stared at the stack of papers scattered on his desk.

He flipped his hands up neatly, shaking them off as I smacked the floor limp. What I couldn't get passed was the look on his face after I finished my sentence, it was like bliss to me. Something I hadn't seen from Levi yet.

Levi lowered down to me as I picked my hands up, feeling the pain echo in my lower back from the height of my fall.

I stared down to my palms, checking if they had been splintered as he tilted his head over, looking at my hands. The skin in my hand glistened as a rose petal tint rose to the surface.

Shit.

He pulled my finger back, examining my dominant hand closely. His actions were somewhat eccentric, my feet slid back as I held my arm closer to myself. Seeing him up close, you could finally dictate the deep color of his seemingly dead eyes.

My jaw tightened, and my eyebrows pushed together. Stop being like this, I wanted to say.

" Does it hurt?" He leaned in, looking past me like he had cared.

" No. I should get going." I lifted off my palms, Levi standing up in front of me.

" Really?" He argued, glancing back to my hands. I could feel a warm tingle in my hand where skin had scrapped against wood, and the oak must've broken through it.

" It doesn't look like it. Let me help you-" He slid to his desk, grabbing a kit from the long drawer.

I could've sworn my face looked the same as when I saw his a few minutes ago, that look of pure anger. My hands flipped around as I scanned the lines of my palm.

" I can take care of myself."

" Plus, you're the one who dropped me." I raised my hands to my face, a small patch of inflamed skin dripping blood slowly.

" I know." Levi acknowledged, wrapping excess bandage to his fist as he held my wrist up. At first I wanted to pull my wrist away, but fighting him wouldn't do much for me and my damaged hands.

His thumb dragged the blood from my skin, transferring it to his palm as he layered bandage on my hand, wrapping it neatly. As his eyes circled on the linen, my expression sharpened.

I had nothing to say. I just watched as he wiped the blood into his palm, marking his skin with my wound.

Levi ripped the fabric, knotting it off firmly while setting the box of bandage and medical tools down. He tugged his sleeves down before stepping behind where I had been and lighting another lamp.

This one finally sustained, giving enough light to reveal the seating area he had hidden. I stared around, my head spinning slowly as I grazed over the tall walls.
