I wasn't too confident in my job yet, being it had been so long since I was a squad Captain before. Out of all the things in only a short weekend I've doubted myself of, there's one thing I'm pretty skilled with.
My hands.
I pressed my hands to my face, digging a nail to my skin to double take if I was really here. I shrieked again, feeling the small pinch as I pulled my hands from my cheeks.
The bandage, to my surprise, was still wrapped around my hand like a present. I rolled my shoulders back and forth, resting the muscles in my face from the shallow relief I got.
My clock read the hour 8, which meant breakfast was already being closed up. I didn't care much though, as I still felt waves of shock and disbelief when I stared to my wound. It still throbbed.
I could only pray my interactions with Levi would be without my hands, and straight to the point.
I grabbed bare clothing to wear under my belts once I got them on, and began to change as I flattened the sheets on my bed without care. I was trying my best to remember what I was seeing around me there, but it was all so clear to me what happened in front of me.
Thank god it was just a dream.
I straightened out the top I threw over my shoulders, adjusting the rest of my outfit as I made my way out the door. What would come to shock me more was the setting of my dream.
Shivers fell down my back roughly as the faces stared at me in my memory.
My eyes darted down the hall, and back to my hand as I took my bare teeth to the tan wrapping, tearing it off from its knot, and undoing the chains Levi had put on me earlier. It was like a constant reminder of yesterday.
I slid the remaining band aid into my pocket, my gaze riveted on the irritated skin. It looked exactly like it did in my memory, and was unhealed as expected.
And by the time I made it down the hall, I was met with Jean and Sasha coming back upstairs to their dorms.
" F/N? Did you sleep in? We didn't see you downstairs this morning." He laughed, Sasha stepping out from the stairwell and shutting the door behind them.
I held my hands at my back, smiling widely at the pair.
" Oh yeah, I was just really tired." I panted shortly, Sasha catching my attention as she pursed her lips shut.
" Captain Levi came downstairs, but left after he sat with us for a few minutes." She laughed, staring at Jean as we stepped past the door we had been blocking.
She leaned in with a weird look in her eyes as they traced back to Levi's doors, which stood far down the opposing end.
" He even grabbed extras today."
Sasha and I laughed lightly, Jean walking forward tediously as he waited for us to follow his lead. We walked in silence for a second, before he caught my attention again.
" Are you hungry?" He asked sincerely.
I didn't feel too famished yet, but that feeling would probably grow fast after we got outside.
" Not yet. I'll just wait till lunch." I carefully turned down the hall, Sasha placing a hand on both Jean and I's shoulders.
" My dorms this way, so I'll meet you two at training!" She cheered, pushing us forward as I waved my hand to her. It was nice to see her often, and I felt like it was easy to talk to her since she was of my knowledge, more aware of Levi's presence than I was. Sasha already felt like a good friend.
