Word count... 3100

As the door closed I strolled out of the doorway, standing apart from Levi. As he mirrored my posture against the brick, the brisk air made my teeth grind closer together. With Levi staring at me in an unvaried gaze, I did my best to turn my body aside.

" With what exactly?" I soon caught the slant of his collar, stepping closer to straighten it as he suddenly stepped back hesitantly, before then calming his stance.

His eyes carried over my shoulder to watch beyond the corridor while I studied them trace up and down.

" Just come with me." The tone in his voice gravelly as he stammered through the last word of his statement.

Levi looked down the hall before grabbing the shoulder of my shirt, pulling me out of the clear hall as I tried getting his hands off of me.

" Hey, let go of my sweater. I can walk on my own." I pressed at the center of his wrist with my thumb, pushing him away. While his arm fell down in defeat I realigned the collar of my sweater while we headed down the hall.

" I know."

If he knew so much then why didn't he just start walking? I would have followed him anyways.

Of course I didn't ask, it wasn't worth my time. Instead I just walked in Levi's vicinity as his boots clicked to the wood like a song's rhythm. Doors clicking from the hallway we left had my head turn, but before I knew it he already had me back in his office.

I felt the nearly exact memory pulsing through my hand's nearly healed gash. The prickling feeling forced me to return my eyes to my hand as the doors swung shut beyond me.

" Take these papers- I need you to sort them by number and separate them into halves." Levi cleared his throat while taking his seat, the papers now in my clutch as he dropped them to my arms.

These must have been the papers there on his desk that I saw here before. The first of the stack had a very faint drip of tea, like the splatters on his shirt this morning. My eyes wandered the room as I felt heat rising from the floor.

Levi had the same ideal set up as Hanji, but the color palette was a bit different. I'd say that maybe it matches better, too. I still liked being in Hanji's office more though.

" You can sit over there." His hand hovered to the couch as his eyes rummaged through a book. Levi spun the chair towards the desk as my eyes lingered to his lap for a moment. In the chair his legs stretched, he seemed more comfortable in that seat than his usual tight form.

" Sure." I nodded slowly.

To be honest, I didn't really have it in me right now to do anything else. And I wasn't aiming to pest him over small things. I had nothing better to do than look in an old storage closet probably filled with old trash.

A small cup of tea sat at the small table. I admired the few couches that faced one another, along with the many books surrounding me. I reckoned it was an old cup of his before starting to flip through papers, finding many different numbers scattered at the labels.

My hand hovered over the brim while the steam tap danced on my palm. Why did he leave that here? I could only continue to guess the answer to every single question I had.

Soon I found the first page, and the numbers following as I tried to find a relaxing position on the cushions. Crack after crack, the wood split and released more heat as I fanned my sweater.
