Alice.
That name. That name that made chills run up my spine. I have never been more terrified in my entire life. It's not because someone is putting me in danger, they are putting my children in danger. My children. No one is getting away with this.
She has black hair, wears a black coat, and has burned hands.
Why would she have burned hands?
Does Grayson have an imaginary friend? Could that be it?
He said he saw her shadow, could that have been an illusion?
I truly don't know.
I grab Grayson's hand and rush us into the palace again
"Don't ever go out there without Theo's or my permisson, understand?" I say in a stern voice
He nods "I was only trying to play with Alice."
I sigh "Grayson, is Alice real?'
He looks confused "Real?"
"Like is she your imaginary friend?"
Grayson laughs "Mother I am six years old, I don't have imaginary friends. I'm too old for that."
"Grayson, this is serious." My voice is hard
"Mother," Grayson whines "She's really nice to me. I like her."
I sigh and run a hand through my hair
I spot Greer down the hall and call to her
"Can you please watch Grayson for a while? Don't let him outside, ever." I tell her
She nods "Of course, Yasmine." Greer nods and takes Grayson's hand and walks away from me
I run to Theo's office
I see him sitting at his large wooden desk, writing something down on a map
He turns when he hears my heels
He looks at my face and quickly gets up and walks over to me
He grabs my waist "What's wrong darling?"
"T-theo." I can't get the words out as I sob
"Shh, my sweetheart, relax." He rubs my back
I take a deep breath and look at Theo
"Grayson, he said he has this friend named Alice. He said that she's hidden under a black coat with burned hands." I'm shaking at this point
Theo furrows his eyebrows "What? Alice?"
I nod quickly "He said she was about thirteen and she's here, in the palace."
"Are you sure it's not his imaginary friend?"
"No!"
He nods and calls to his guards and orders them to search the entire castle inside and out
Gia and Grayson both come into Theo's office with Kenna, Greer, and Lola
"Mother, what's going on?" Gia asks, clutching onto my light blue dress
I try to smile and touch her hair "Nothing, just taking precaution."
"It's about Alice, isn't it? You told!" Grayson yells at me
My eyes fill with tears
"I just want you to be safe. You don't understand."
"She was my only friend! Father and you never let us have friends! It's not fair!" He stomps his foot
"Gray, that's not true. We invite your friends over all the time." Theo tells his son
"And then they leave! Alice has never left! She's even came and played with me during my nap time!"
My goodness.
I cover my mouth from screaming and turn my back
"What?! What do you mean?!" Theo yells at Grayson
"S-she came to play with me when it was my nap time and when I couldn't fall asleep at night, she came into my room and layed with me, read me a story. She cares about me!" Grayson yells back at Theo
Theo curses under his breath and rakes a hand through his hair
He turns to me and takes me into his arms as I wet his shirt from my tears
"I-I'm scared." Gia whispers
Kenna bends down to her "There's nothing to be afraid of Gia."
Lola and Greer both nod, but I can tell that they are both terrifed
Jack and David both rush into the room
"What the hell is going on?! Why are the guards searching everywhere?" Jack looks at Theo
"There's an intruder in the palace." Theo whispers to his best mate
"What? Are you positive?" David asks looking at Theo, then at me
Theo nods
"Who? Who is this intruder?" Jack asks
"Her name is Alice and she's about thirteen." Theo shakes his head
Jack runs a hand through his black hair "What the fvck?"
I nod, agreeing with him
