Chapter 29

"The king has arrived!" I hear a man's voice from outside

My eyes jolt open

It's been a week since Theo had gone to Germany. I spent my days avoiding Jack and seeing Matt and David. Matt said he would never forgive me if I went back into the woods, so I haven't. Not yet. I ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner with Jack and David, but I ignore Jack and put my attention into David's jokes and games. I know it makes Jack mad, but isn't that the goal?

I do my morning routine and get dressed quickly

I open my doors with such a force, the doors almost shake

And there he is, coming down the hallway for me

He looked stunning, he had a white shirt where you could see his beautiful, toned chest. He also had on black pants tucked into leather boots. His face was full of happiness and life. His hair had grown and he had stubble on his face.

"Theo," I breathe

I start running towards him, I run so fast I'm afraid I'll fall

He looks and me and smiles widely, his pace fastens

I throw my arms around his as he lifts me in the air

"I've missed you so much." He whispers into my hair

I nod "I've missed you more."

He chuckles and sets me down

"How have you been? How was Germany?" Questions fly out of my mouth before I can catch them

He smiles "I've been well. Germany was grand. I bought you gifts, there in the carriage."

I smile and nod

"How have you been?" He raises an eyebrow

I look to the floor, then back up

"I've been alright."

"Just alright?"

"Well, it's not much fun when you're not around." I smile at the end

He chuckles and kisses my forehead

"Have you gone into the woods?"

I shake my head "No."

He nods "Good, even if you tried to I had my guards forbid you to go."

"I figured."

"You're all I thought about." He tells me

I smile and kiss him hard

Jack and David stand as Theo and I make our way into the dining room

"Jack, how good to see you again." Theo pats Jack's back

I almost roll my eyes, Jack is a sneak and disloyal

"You too Theo, you too." Jack's eyes shift to me

But Theo doesn't catch it, thank the heavens his attention is on David

"And how have you been little brother?" Theo smiles at David

"Good, and you?" David chuckles

"Brother?" I blurt

The three of them look at my confused face

Theo chuckles "Darling, he's not my real brother, we've known each other all our lives."

I almost sigh a sigh of relief

"I wish I was his brother though, would have had all the women I desired." David jokes as we take our seats

"You already can." Jack says, looking at David

I almost cough

"I mean the beautiful ones, sure I can have all the women at the pleasure house but I mean faithful, intelligent women." David looks at Jack, there is a stern look in his eyes

Jack smirks "I've already got one of those."

Shit. 

"Oh really? And what's her name, may I ask?" Theo asks playfully

"Star." 

"Star?" David and Theo ask in unison

Jack nods, looking at me then at Theo

"Because she's my stars and moon, my life. She has another name but that's what I call her." Jack says

Theo nods and says "What a lovely thing."

But I knew Jack was talking about me when he said star.

"Oh, Theo it's wonderful." I open one of the gifts Theo has gotten me from Germany

Its a black dress, with gold trimming on the sleeves and bottom, it had small crystals on the collar

"I'm glad you like it my love." He smiles at me

I lean into him and kiss his neck

"I'm lucky to have you." I touch his bare chest

 We were in our room, watching the stars in the sky 

"And I'm lucky to have you. I would have paid a priceless amount of gold to have you if you weren't mine. Thankfully, your father is a wise man."

I chuckle "Would you have really?"

He nods "I would." 

There's a sense of truthfulness in his voice

I fall asleep to him telling me one of his stories in Germany

Happy late christmas and happy new year! Sorry I haven't updated in two days? Idk lol I've been bussssy! So many parties and events you feel? But yeah, sorry for this, kinda, sorta short chapter.
