I slip on my tight black pants and throw on my white shirt

It was a little after sunrise and no one, except the guards and servants were awake

I put on my black coat and braid my hair

I walked quietly down the main hallway

"Yasmine." I hear a voice behind me

I stop in my tracks and turn, it's Jack

"Good morning, my queen." He smiles

He was charming, of course. But there was something about him that made chills run up my spine. Maybe it was that dark look in his eyes. Or the way his cracks his knuckles and clenches his jaw. I'm not saying he's bad person, I barely know him. I did want to get to know him though.

"Morning Jack." I smile back

"You're up quite early." He points out

"So are you."

He chuckles and looks down at the floor, then back up at me

I bite my lip and look away "I should get going."

He nods

I turn on my heels and walk away, I can't help but turn around to look at him.

He was staring at me, right through me. His brown eyes piercing through my hazel ones. Weird.

I shake it off and walk to the stables

I spot Matt, feeding one of the horses

I look his way, and he looks at me

"Yasmine." He says

I just walk past him, I didn't want to hurt him again, so I just ignored him. It was wrong of course, but I cared about how he felt and I felt that I would hurt him again, if I even spoke to him.

"Yasmine," He repeats and grabs my arm

I turn and look at him, there was a red scratch mark on his neck, running down his neck to his chest

I touch it, and furrow my eyebrows

"What happened?" I ask

He keeps his eyes on me as I inspect his wound

"I accidentally scratched myself while sleeping." He says

I look at his nails, they were freshly cut. There was no way he could have done that by himself.

I just nod

"Yasmine, I'm sorry on how I acted towards you yesterday."

I shake my head "Please don't apologize, it was none of my business."

"You just wanted to help me."

I slightly nod "Yes, but I should have kept it to myself."

"It's kind of relieving that someone knows, it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I've been carrying this around for twenty years."

I look at him. He looked drained and tired. He had bags under his eyes, he had stubble growing on his face, and his face looked almost hollow. He hadn't eaten in awhile.

I look away "Damn you Matt."

"What?" He furrows his eyebrows together

"I hate that you live like this, when you can have a better life. You have an opportunity to be one of the most powerful men in the UK, but you chose to keep yourself in hiding. I don't understand. But, I admire you for some reason."
