Chapter 20

I make my way to the dining room, to meet Theo for breakfast

I stop in my tracks and look one of the large windows in the main hallway

It made me breathless

It was so beautiful. How each snowflake was different, none was alike. It was now november, Theo told me that they celebrated a holiday called "christmas"

"It's a day where you show that one special person in your life, how much you really care for them." He told me one night

I wanted to go outside after breakfast I decided

I left the castle after breakfast, I clutched onto my white fur coat and stepped into the fresh, pure white snow. I wore a freshly ironed, white shirt and black long pants. I tucked my pants into these suede black boots that I found in my room. I then, tied my long hair into a side braid. I was ready.

I walked into the forrest, that was infront of the castle

I promised Theo I wouldn't leave the castle, which was true. The forrest was on castle grounds, so i wasn't disobeying him, was I?

I go deeper into the woods then I head a snap 

I turn my head so quickly, I thought my neck would break

There, in the middle of two evergreen trees was a small deer, it's ear sticking out and eyes wide. Like it was afraid of something?

I smile, nothing to be scared of

I walk a little further, then I hear another noise sounding more of a grunt?

A grunting noise? I've never heard of an animal grunting before.

"Yasmine," I hear a man's voice

I turn left, right, side to side, but no one was there

"Yasmine," The voice almost whispers

Chills run up my spine and I hug my coat

"Show yourself! I'm not afraid!" I yell to no one or nothing 

"Oh, you will be." The voice says and then it's gone

A whoosh of wind sweeps through my face and I know, the voice was gone, vanished into thin air

I stood there, for a couple of seconds, questioning my sanity

Was I insane? Did I imagine it?

No, I didn't. It was real.

I pick up my feet and run. I run until I can hardly breathe. I fall, almost on my face and get a cut on my arm, blood ozzes out of it. But I keep going. I make my way past the gates and fall to my knees in the large lawn, that was covered in snow. It was infront of the castle

"Yasmine!" I hear Theo's voice, from afar

I put my hand to my chest, my heart almost beating out of my chest

Theo falls to his knees, right infront of me

"Yasmine, what on earth?" He breathes

"Theo, we have to run." I breathe out, I didn't want that thing to put him in danger 

"Shh my darling, shh." He touches my cheek

Guards surrond us

"You're ice cold." He says, pushing me into his arms and lifting me up bridal style

I clutch onto his black coat

He runs into the castle, guards opening the doors for us

Their voices saying "Your majesty, is there anything we can do?"
