Chapter 40

I'm walking outside for my afternoon walk, Theo was inside talking to one of his lords

All the sudden I feel a liquid running down my legs, I furrow my eyebrows and pull up my dress just a little to see what was going on. 

I almost screamed when I saw a pool of blood surrounding my feet, and in the middle of the blood was an unborn child. It's eye were wide open, as if to scream you did this to me

I wake up screaming and crying

Theo quickly sits up and holds me in his arms

"Shhh, my darling everything is alright. You're here with me, you're safe."

Tears fall freely from my eyes "I'm so sorry." I whisper into his chest

"You don't need to apologize my love, you did nothing wrong." He tells me as he rubs circles in my back

"I k-killed our child." I shiver from the cold

He brings the covers up and wraps them around me

"You didn't, I don't want to ever hear you say that." He presses his body up against mine

"If I hadn't fell-"

"You didn't mean to, darling you did nothing wrong." He kisses my forehead

I stay quiet as he says sweet nothing into my ear

I hiccup on my tears 

He pulls away to look at me

"I'm the luckiest man alive." He whispers and kisses my tears away

"Why do you love me so? I have nothing to give you." I ask

"I love you because you're the only woman you treats me like a real man. You have never used me for your own pleasure. I love you because even though I've messed up so many times, you stood by me and loved me." He speaks in a strong tone

Another tear falls from my eye

"You've given me everything and more. All I need is your love to survive, you need to give me anything else." He kisses my neck 

I sigh and kiss him for a few moments 

I grab onto the back of his neck and connect our foreheads

"Don't let this ruin you." Theo tells me

I nod and hug him 

"Never let me go."

"Never my love."

It's been a month since the accident, my bruises and scratches have gone

I've lost ten pounds, but I've been eating regularly and sleeping good

I walk to the stables and find Matthew

"Matt." I exclaim smiling

He turns to me and I almost gasp

There was a scratch running from his forehead to his jawline, his eyes were dull and he had facial hair on his jawline

"What the hell happened?" I touch his cheek

He turns his head "Nothing, Yasmine, it's nothing."

"It's something." I press

"Yasmine, please can we just leave this for another day?" He sighs

"Where were you?" I wasn't done with him yet

"Away."

I roll my eyes "If you don't want to talk to me, fine I'll just leave you." I start to walk away

"Yasmine wait." He calls after me

I stop in my tracks and turn to face him and raise an eyebrow

"I'm in a lot of trouble." He tells me

"Do you owe anyone money? That's not a problem" I start to ponder how much he owes

"The darkness, I work for him."
