"I watched you fall like a house of cards."
"Alice?" I call out, she promised me that she would come to me a couple of days ago, but never showed. I was a little worried.
"Yasmine." She appears from behind one of Grayson's-who was outside playing with Jack, so I was all alone with her
"Hi how are you today-" I start but she cuts me off
"Yasmine, he's here."
My heart stops beating
"What?" My forehead starts to fill with sweat beads
"Matthew, I saw him lurking outside the palace. No one saw him because, he was in a disguise."
I am hyperventilating now "W-what disguise was he wearing?"
"He grew a beard Yasmine, his hair has grown, and he dresses like he is wealthy."
"My goodness, why didn't you tell me this earlier?!" I yell at her
She backs away from me a little "Yasmine, I just saw this yesterday night."
"What was he doing outside?" I lower my voice
"Looking into your bedroom window on the far right, you were getting undressed. Yasmine, I'm sorry I should have done something-"
"No, no it's alright. What did he do when he saw me?"
She looks down, then looks back up at me
"I'd rather not say."
"Alice." I say through gritted teeth
"H-he started touching himself, and moaning your name. Yasmine, he swore that he would have you, very soon."
I bite my lip, pretty much disgusted
I run a hand through my hair "What am I supposed to do Alice? Theo vows to never put me in danger again, but he isn't doing enough. No one is really helping me."
"I am." Alice touches my hand
I can feel her burned hands on my soft ones, but I don't pull away. I grab her hand and squeeze it.
"Thank you Alice, for all that you have done." I try to smile at her, as my eyes fill with tears
"No need to thank me, I should be thanking you for being my friend."
I smile and squeeze her hand a second time and taste my salty tears as they rush down my face and into my mouth
"Just stay with me, for a second." I say, sitting on my bed
Alice sits next to me on my bed and rubs my shoulder "I can stay as long as you please."

I was in my library on the northeast corner of the palace, reading a book on the black plague
"Yasmine!" Alice screams, running into the library
As soon as I see her terrified face, I drop my book on my sofa and stand quickly
"Alice what on earth-"
"He's here, he's coming!" Alice says frantically
"Where is he? Alice where is he?!" I look around quickley
"I'm right here my darling." I hear his voice, that voice that makes chills run down my spine. That voice that makes me want to die, that voice that belonged to Matthew.
