Chapter 27

It's dinner time and I'm late

My servants rush to do the finishing touches on my makeup and hair

I thank them and run out of my room

I walk quickly to the dining room

I look and see Violet, seated next to her husband

Then, I see Jack in his usual seat, across from me

But then I see a man, who had dark brown hair and was smiling at something that Theo had just said, he was seated on my left side

His smile was beyond beautiful, it shined throughout the room. He was tall and his muscles were shown through his white collared shirt. He was young, he looked like he was in his early twenties. (Dave Franco)

"Ah Yasmine, you decided to join us after all." Theo jokes 

I feel everyone's eyes on me, I especially sensed that Jack was 

I smile and take my seat, next to the attractive, whom I yet to know

"Sorry I'm late." I apologize to Theo

"It's quite alright my love. But, this is David. He's one of my lords." Theo looks to the man that is seated next to me

I turn to face David and smile "Pleasure to meet you,"

He grabs my hand and kisses it "The pleasure is all mine." He smiles at me

I feel myself blushing so I quickly drink some of the red wine, the servants put out for us

I put down my cup and look directly across me to find Jack looking at me, his dark eyes were burning into mine, he was mad.

"So Violet, how's Germany?" I ask, trying to ease the tension

She smiles faintly and looks at Louis, who was already looking at her, smiling big

"It's amazing, I enjoy it." 

Violet's hair was pulled into a bun in the back of her head, she wore a bright pink dress and crystal earrings

"Yasmine, darling, I'm leaving for Germany with Louis and Violet tomorrow. I should be back in a week or twos time. I told Dave and Jack to keep an eye out for you."

I nod, then look at Jack who had a small smirk on his lips

I roll my eyes at him, then turn to Theo

"Is there anything wrong?" I ask

Theo shakes his head "No, just people not paying their taxes."

"What are you going to do?" I'm almost scared to ask

"Enslave the ones that don't pay." Louis tells me

That's ballistic

"Isn't there another way? What if they spent all their money on their starving children?"

"What other way?" Louis asks, he looks interested

I shrug "I don't know, maybe set a structured time for men who owe money, for example, make them work them ten hours each day rather then their regular eight hours. Make them work for you in your castle or agriculture. After they work all their hours, considered their debts paid. Don't enslave them, that's cruel and you have no idea what they were doing with money. They could be paying for their children's clothes so they don't freeze to death, I don't know, they could be spending money on medicine for their dying wife." I keep eye contact with Louis during the whole thing

All eyes are on me, no one speaks but then David raises his hands and starts clapping

Theo and Jack follow, then so does Violet and Louis
