Chapter 4
"Well I can explain" I started "I....."
"She was showing me around last night, and didn't have time" siaid Daniel, quickly explaining. Mrs. Olson blew a strand of gray hair out of her face and sighed.
"Well Juliette, I guess I can excuse you this time, if you turn in your homework tomorrow" she said "Only for performing community service though." And she put a check by my name. I turned to Daniel, and mouthed thank you. He shook his head like it was no problem, and faced back to the front of the class. I grinned and turned to look at my notebook. He was so sweet, and he probably did like me!
No I told myself Don't get ahead of yourself. And stopped thinking about it while I listened to Mrs. Olson explain the pathagoreum therum.
At the end of class, I caught up with Daniel as he walked out of the classroom.
"Daniel! I couldn't thank you enough for covering for me. I swear I would be in detention right now if you didn't" I told him "Mrs. Olson is the toughest teacher here!!" Daniel rolled his eyes and smiled at me.
"I told you, it's no problem" he said "I was being nice. It's part of 'community service'" He did a perfect imatation of Mrs. Olson and we both started cracking up.
"What's your next class?" I asked him, glancing down at my schedule. He also took the slightest glance at mine and replied
"Science. Room 405. Mr. Morrison. But I have to make a quick stop at the office first." And he turned into the office, and started talking to the secretary. I rolled my eyes because I knew he didn't really have the same class I did.
