Chapter 7
I stared at him in shock, my cheeks flushing with embarassment.
"Do you really think that?" I asked him. My question sent him into the true horror of what he had just said.
"Um sure" he mumbled, his chekks as red as mine, if not redder "So.. I suppose we should start heading to English now?" I nodded as he linked my arm in his. We shared a secret smile as Annaliese rounded the corner.
"So, Juliette, are you ready to go to....." she stopped abruptly.
"Oh no. Don't tell me, Mr. Perfect is going to be in English with us?" she groaned. Daniel grinned at her mischevously, and I think Annaliese would have been mad, but she was happy he had smiled at her. She immediatly linked with his other arm, and we marched off, looking like a scene from the Wizard of Oz. Daniel must have been thinking the same thing because he started singing under his breath.
"We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz...." I giggled quietly, and Daniel seemed embarassed that I had heard him. I stopped, but laughed hysterically inside my mind.
"It's really not that funny you know" he hissed at me.
Can he read my mind? I wondered. No probably not. He was probably just saying his after thoughts. And then I realized, Annaliese had called him Mr. Perfect, but he's really just a dork like everyone else in Junior High.
