Chapter 12
"What?!?" I sputtered, staring at them blankly.
"You heard her, we're dating" said Daniel menacingly. Annaliese giggled and slung her arms around Daniel as if she was afraid she was going to fall. I rolled my eyes and groaned.
"You guys sicken me" I muttered. They both laughed and started a secret conversation. Then, when Daniel and I got to Mr. Barnum's class, they hugged and Daniel followed me into the classroom.
"This is what you get for not agreeing with my terms" he whispered to me.
"Well, you can't be a baby every time you don't get your way" I muttered. Daniel's eyes glowed red.
"If you ever call me that again, the consequences will be very serious!" he exclaimed. I smiled and rolled my eyes.
What could he do to me? I asked myself. We both took our seats and waited for the class to begin.
"Good morning class" Mr. Barnum greeted us "I have decided to assign a long term project that goes along with our current unit. The Revelutionary War." Everyone groaned, and Mr. Barnum grinned.
"But, this one will be fun! I want you all to create a diarama of a certain battle in the war" he said happily. There was less groaning this time, but it only came from the kids that were constantly in detention.
"I will also assign partners" he added. And as he went down the list I prayed and prayed that it wouldn't be Daniel.
"And the last partners will be Juliette Middleton and Daniel Jaspers." I groaned quietly and Daniel slammed his head onto his binder. The project idea was fun, but I could tell that with Daniel, we would argue about every detail.
"Now for the rest of the class period I would like you to discuss with your partner what battle you would like to do" instructed Mr. Barnum. All the other partners immediatley got together, but Daniel and I just sat there for awhile before talking.
"I think we should do the Battle of Bunker Hill" I said.
"Battle of Ticonderoga!" he insisted.
"Bunker Hill!"
"Ticonderoga!"
"Bunker Hill!!!!!"
"Ticonderoga!!!!!"
"BUNKER HILL!!!"
"TICONDEROGA!!!"
"What is going on with you to?" demanded Mr. Barnum.
"We can't agree on a battle to do" mumbled Daniel. Mr. Barnum rubbed his chin and made a decision for us.
"You guys are going to do the Battle of Monmouth, and I want you to go to one of your houses and solve this disagreement." With that Mr. Barnum walked away leaving me and Daniela steaming at each other.
