Chapter 15

"What do you mean 'someone's already claimed it????'" shrieked Daniel. The secretary looked at him like his was nuts and turned back to her work.

"I told someone already claimed it. So stop lying about it and get back to class" she advised. Daniel started reaching into his pocket, but remembered that he was missing his coin.

"Fine" said Daniel "But if it turns up again, make sure you tell me." The secretary gave him a mock salute and muttered "Will do." Daniel stormed out of the office and into the hallway.

"What do we have next?" I asked Daniel, trying to distract him from the situation. He only pulled out his schedule and shoved it in my face. I quickly found the spot for Thursday, 2nd period and saw the word Gym.

"Daniel, the gym is the other way" I informed him, tugging on his shirt. He swiped my hand away and kept walking.

"Go without me" he said "I'm going to find out who stole my coin." I through my hands up in mock defeat, and turned around to start walking to the gym.

He's never going to find the burglar himself I told myself I'm going to go to the secretary and ask her who it was. So on the way to the gym, I stopped in the office.

"What do you want?" moaned the secretary.

"Can you give me the description of the person who 'claimed' the necklace?" The secretary rolled her eyes, but nodded.

"Well, she had long, straight blonde hair, blue-green eyes, and she was wearing a red sweater." I gasped. That was Annaliese!!

"Can I have two late passes for gym?" I asked quickly. She filled them out anf as soon as they were in my hand, I was after Daniel.

"DANIEL!!! DANIEL!!!!" I shouted. He was terrorizing some poor 6th grader and when he saw me coming he let him go and ran to me.

"What?? What??" he cried.

"I found out who took your coin!" I cried. He opened his eyes wide and I took him over to the science room. I whipped open the door, almost too dramatically, and said "Annaliese, they need you in the office." She stood up and walked out the door to us.

"What does the office want?" she asked nervously.

"Nothing" muttered Daniel "But we want to know why you stole my coin?" Annaliese's eyes widened when she realized that we knew.

"I-I just wanted to be able to control everything" she stammered.

"Well I have news for you" said Daniel "It only works for me."

"How-how did you guys know??" she asked.

"The secretary told me" I said. Annaliese hung her head and placed the coin in Daniel's outstretched hand.

"Oh and by the way Annalise" said Daniel "We are done."
