"What are you doing here?"
"I missed you so I came back." My heart melted. "As much as I love seeing you in that outfit, I'd rather see you out of it." I sighed heavily. "We can't."
"We can't?" He started leading me to the exit. Once we were outside and could hear each other better I spoke again. "I'm on my period." That pissed me off because I wanted him and wanted to feel him between my legs. He pulled me close. I stared up at him. "Kait, you know it's not about the sex. That's just part of the package. I miss you doesn't mean let's have sex until you can't walk. It means let's spend some time together, just the two of us. I can spend time with my girl without trying to tear her clothes off." I rolled my eyes but danced inside with absolute joy.

"How did you know I was here?"
"Besides keeping tabs on you?"
"Besides that."
"Saf called complaining about you cramping her style and she can't get to have sex with her man. Her words, not mine."
"Oh please. When she turned up unannounced I didn't complain. She's unbelievable."
"There are two things wrong with what you just said. The first is that you did complain. The second is that Saf didn't stop us from having sex." That was true. "Come on. I want to take you somewhere."
"Where?"
"To one of my favourite spots here." Phoenix and I didn't spend a lot of time in America, so I was shocked to hear he had a favourite place here. "Okay." He joined our fingers and we started walking. "How did you get here?" He smiled down at me. "I rode." I cringed. "Don't look so scared. Where we're going isn't far from here. We can walk." I breathed a sigh of relief.

We arrived at an abandoned building about ten minutes later. "We're going in there?" He pointed up. "We're going up there. The view is wonderful. I wanted to show you." He was right about the view. I could see the lights of the city so clear from up here. And it was rather peaceful. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his chin on top of my head. We remained silent for a few minutes soaking it all in and watching the world below us. "How long are you back for this time?" He chuckled. "How long do you want me to be back for?"
"Is asking for forever too much?"
"I don't think it's too much at all." His arms tightened. "The items are in the production phase. That will take a few months. I'd have to go back maybe once a month to check up on their progress." I spun around. "So does that mean you'll be here for the rest of the month?" He smiled. "Are you that happy?"
"Do you even have to ask that?" I pulled his head down for a kiss. I wish I wasn't on my period. I wanted to jump his bones right now. We kissed for a long while not wanting to let go of the moment. With Phoenix here everything felt right.

We broke the kiss but didn't move from our intimate position. I knew I needed to tell him about what happened with Niko. I lowered my eyes. "I need to tell you something." I avoided his gaze at all cost. "Am I going to like it?"
"No."
"Then save it for later. I have something to say first. Whatever you have to say won't affect that." His fingers lifted my chin gently. Our eyes met. "Marry me." What? My eyes went wide. "What?"
"Marry me Kaitlyn-Rose Paxton. I want that forever with you." He waited patiently while my brain fully processed his words. "Say yes." How could he think I'd have said anything other than yes? "Yes," I said. He lowered his lips to mine and I welcomed the kiss he gave me. I turned around again and relaxed in his embrace. The silence that surrounded us was a happy and comfortable one as we both enjoyed the peace and quiet from our spot away from the busy New York night.

Now that Kait and I were back in London and she's agreed to marry me, there were some things I needed to take care of. One of those things was Niko De Luca. After Kait told me he kissed her, I wanted to beat his face into a concrete wall over and over. But when she admitted that for a few minutes she reciprocated the kiss. I was at a loss for words. That meant he was a threat. I didn't stand for threats. I eliminated them. But if he was powerful enough to sway her even a little, then he had a plan. I was going to put a stop to it. Although Kait didn't say it, I knew she was bothered. The good thing was that she had gone to meet up with Kei, so she wouldn't be around when I do pop in on De Luca. I've never met the guy, but I already knew I didn't like him.
