22. Don't shake her
Kaitlyn-Rose
How dare he barge in here and demand I return the deed to the house? Not only that, he kissed me and started saying a bag of nonsense that I couldn't piece together. Where was this determined interest four years ago? He could have gotten anything he wanted back then. All he'd had to do was say the word. I shook my head. No. It's too late. I don't care what he says. I love Phoenix. Phoenix is the one for me. Phoenix loves me. It's always been me for him. I should have done more than kick his pompous ass in the balls. I needed a drink. Niko De Luca was going to drive me insane.
"Send them all home. I'm done for the day."
"But you just started."
"Send them the fuck home, Madeline. I don't pay you for your ideas. I pay you to do whatever the fuck I tell you to." I needed to get away. I could feel the devil's eyes on me, scorching my skin, burning me from the inside out. My palms felt sweaty all of a sudden. I couldn't get to the elevator fast enough. Those dark blue eyes stared me down until the elevator doors closed. I gripped my chest trying to calm my racing heart down. How is it possible for him to affect me with just a look? My heart was beating wildly. I needed to stay away from that man. He had the ability to set my heart racing with just a look. What would happen with a touch? No. I wouldn't think that way. I needed Phoenix. But it was night-time in Korea now. I couldn't bother him, especially since he came home over the weekend.
I took out my cell and called Kei. I needed the familiarity of his arms. "Where are you?"
"Where else would I be?"
"Can you leave?" I know I sounded desperate, but I needed my best friend right now. It was selfish of me to take him away from his studies, but I needed him. "Kait, what's wrong?"
"I'm going to your house. I'll wait for you there." I was desperate to get away from the building. Every step I made I could feel those devil blue eyes watching me. When I finally made it outside I took a deep breath before getting in the car.
"Where to, Ms. Paxton?"
"My uncle's house please."
I closed my eyes trying my best to block out thoughts of Niko's tongue in my mouth, but I just couldn't stop thinking about it or him.
After about twenty minutes I was letting myself into my uncle's house. I headed for Kei's room and curled up in his familiar bed. He arrived about forty minutes after I did. By then I had thought about all the possible ways that Niko De Luca could fuck me.
"What's wrong, Kait?" He crawled into bed with me and I curled myself into his body. "Kait?" I took a few minutes to gather my thoughts. "What's wrong? I haven't seen you like this since boarding school. Although I'm not complaining, I am a tad concerned. Did Phoenix do something?"
"No. It isn't Phoenix. It's me."
I took a deep breath. "Remember in boarding school when Drake said he had videos of me? He did. He threatened me with them. I had gotten a lawyer to take care of it. He bought the videos and copies for seven million."
"What? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I got kidnapped and everything went crazy. I guess I forgot. Anyway, the lawyer that helped me was Niko De Luca."
"The Niko De Luca from De Luca and Associates?" I nodded. "How did you meet him?"
"I'll get to that another time. Back then I had a crush on him."
"Kait, tell me you didn't sleep with him."
"What if I did? I slept with you."
"The guy is twenty-eight years old. He's practically a grandpa. Well he would have been younger then, but still too old for you. You were seventeen. That would have made him a creepy old pervert." I laughed. "That's exactly what I called him back then, although for different reasons.
