Groff's pov
"Papa" Sebbie comes running up to me, arms stretched out to give me a hug. "Hi Baby" I gush, kneeling down so he can give me a hug. "Do we have everything for him?" I ask Lin, standing up. "I think so" he replied, obviously nervous. "All right. Let's rideeeee" I cheer. Sebbie joins me in the cheer "les ride" he chimes, grabbing the small backpack.
We step into the car, I attach the car seat for Sebbie and place him into it. "Do you know where we are going, little man" I ask him, a big smile on my face. "Pescool" he answers, smiling big. "That's right" I cheer, giving him a quick ruffle trough his brown hair. I step into the by rider seat and we're off. Lin is nervously ticking the steering wheel with his right hand. "He will be fine Lin" I say with a small smile.
"I know, but he is only two. Is he even ready for this?" He replies, worry sounding trough his voice. He puts his hand on my leg for his comfort. "He has been babbling about this for two weeks Lin. Are you sure it's not you who isn't ready?" I reply, putting my hand on top of his. "You're right" he sighs, putting his hand back on the steering wheel.
We ride the rest of the way there in silence except for Sebs babbling in the background. When we arrive, I get Sebbie out of his car seat. We walk inside the hall of the preschool. Sebbies teacher comes to greet us "Hi again, guys. You ready Sebastian?" She cheers. I suddenly feel a horrible feeling in my stomach. What if he isn't ready? Lin is usually right about everything.
Maybe the other kids will be mean to him or he will miss us. Sebbie cheers back and almost wants to walk off, but I hold his hand. "Sorry can we have a minute?" I ask his teacher. "Of course, take your time" she kindly replies. I turn towards Lin "I think you were right. He isn't ready" I nervously ramble on. "He is Groffy, you told me that" he giggles back. "Why did you change your mind" He asks, taking my hand in his. "I don't know, what if the other kids are mean to him and just- he is just getting big so quickly. Shouldn't we keep him at home just a bit longer". Lin wraps his arms around me "He'll be fine, baby. It's time". He whispers in my ear. I let go off the hug and then kneel down to Sebbie
"alright little bud. Have fun" I softly state, tears forming in my eyes. "Papa no sad" Sebbie replies, putting his hands on my cheeks. "I'm alright Sebbie go on" I choke out, taking his hands of off my cheeks. He shrugs his shoulders and then runs off. I stand up again, looking up at Lin who is also crying. Sebbie is about to disappear into a classroom, but he turns around "Bye dada, Bye papa" he yells, waving his hand violently.
Lin and I walk out of the preschool hand in hand, still crying. We get into the car "God we are such cry-baby's" I laugh trough my tears. "We are" Lin replies, also giggling. I give him the best hug I can from the by rider's seat, untill we are both finished crying. My phone goes off, so I let go off the hug and pick it up. "It's Oak" I whisper to lin.
"Hi, where are you". Oak asks, he sounds worried.
"Lin and I just dropped of Sebbie at preschool" I reply
"Could you pick me up, Daveed is in trouble". He asks, worry still sounding trough.
"Ofc, we will be there in 2 minutes". We race to Oaks place. He is already waiting outside and it's obvious he has been crying. He gets in the back and immediately start talking "Daveed went to his parents" he began while Lin already stepped on the gas and drived towards Daveeds parents. "He wanted to convince them to come to our wedding, but he has now locked himself in the bathroom". He explains. "Don't worry, he'll be fine" Lin tries to comfort Oak. We spent the rest of the drive-in silence, Oak worrying his ass of in the backseat and me and Lin exchanging some looks every 5 minutes.
We finally arrive and Oak jumps out of the car. We follow his lead and get out of the car. He basically runs up the path to the door and rings the bell. We walk behind him, the door is opened and Oak immediately rushes past the person opening it. "What the fuck is this" I hear the person saying as we walk inside too. Oak immediately goes looking for the bathroom, but Lin looks like a man with a mission. He barges into the living room where Daveeds family is gathered. "DISHONOR ON YOU ALL" he shouts. "HOW COULD YOU DISAPPROVE OF YOUR SONS SEXUALITY. OAK AND DAVEED ARE AMAZING AND YOU SHOULD CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY WITH YOUR NEW SON IN LAW. IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD RECONSIDER, REALLY QUICKLY IF YOU WANT TO TALK TO YOUR SON EVER AGAIN. DON'T YOU WANT TO SEE HIM GROW OLD AND HAPPY AND MAYBE HAVE CHILDREN". He rants on, while the family looks absolutely petrified.
Oak comes out of a hallway holding Daveed bridal style. He gestures to me that we should leave. "It's time to leave" I tap Lin on the shoulder. "IF YOU TRULY LOVED YOUR SON YOU WOULD SUPPORT HIM NO MATTER WHAT. BADBYE " he screamed, barging out of the room. I walk after him absolutely dumbfounded, proud and ,not going to lie, a little turned on. "Sorry I can't handle those kinds of people" he whispers to me. "Don't be sorry" I whisper back.
We get back in the car. Oak and Daveed are already in the backseat. Daveed is sobbing loudly into Oaks chest. We stay quiet so they can comfort each other. "They were so mean" I hear Daveed sobbing in the back seat. "They said I will burn in hell for loving you" he choked out. "Shhhh. It will okay" Oak just whispers back not knowing what to say to make him feel better. They talk about what happened for the whole way back. We stop in front of their apartment, they slowly get out. We softly say our goodbyes.
