Chapter 14: The Royal Capital

After the talk and subsequent confession by Asta at Licita's grave, the two rookie Magic Knight returned to their squad's base. To say Asta got an ear full from his squadmates would be an understatement. Vanessa was chewing him out along with Magna who was shaking him at the same time, Luck shocked him a few times, Charmy forced some food down his throat, Gordon muttered something about him being happy his best friend was back and Yami attempted to crush his skull. Asta felt guilty about how much he made his squadmates worry, but he also felt happy knowing that he had so many people who genuinely cared about him. After a heavy amount of apologizing The Black Bulls members decided to call it a night and go to bed.

Asta walked into his room to see his brother floating in the middle of the room with his arms crossed, "I'm shocked the Captain didn't crush your skull" said Liebe. "Oh trust me, he tried" said Asta as he walked into the room while smirking. "You seem to be in a good mood" said Liebe, "I'm guessing Noelle was able to cheer you up?". "Yeah, you could say that" said Asta, "I'm shocked you weren't there. I mean you're the only other person who knows where moms grave is". " That was the plan, but I thought it was better for it to be just Noelle so after showing her the way to the grave I flew back here" said Liebe as he shrugged his shoulders, "why?" replied Asta. "Cause you're smitten for that girl" said Liebe with a smug face, "you don't really hide it". "Who knows maybe I do" said Asta while he walks up to Liebe and flicks his head before walking to his bed. Liebe rubs his head for a few seconds before his eyes widen in shock, "wait, did something happen between you two in the forest!?" said Liebe in shock. "Goodnight Liebe" said Asta as he lay down in his bed and went to sleep. "Asta you bastard you can't fall asleep after dropping a hint like that! Asta? Asta! I know you're not asleep yet you asshole!" shouted Liebe while Asta ignored his brother and fell asleep.

The Next Day

Asta woke up from his sleep and got dressed in his normal attire and went into the living area. Once Asta entered he saw the chaos that has become normal to him, Luck and Magna fighting, Vanessa drinking herself into a coma first thing in the morning, Grey sitting by himself releasing a breath of smoke, Gauche admiring a picture of his sister and Charmy eating a hundred times her body weight. Sitting beside Charmy eating, Asta saw Noelle eating a much smaller plate of food. Noelle and Asta made eye contact and Noelle blushed before looking away, 'she's embarrassed?' thought Asta before smirking, 'oh this is gonna be good'. "Morning guys!" said Asta as he walked into the room catching everyone's attention, 'perfect got everyone's attention, now to drop the bomb'. Asta walked over to Charmy and Noelle, who the latter was looking away from Asta with a pure red face. "And good morning to you Noelle" said Asta before kissing Noelle on the cheek with a smirk. Asta turned to look at his squadmates who had all dropped what they were doing to look at Asta with dropped jaws and wide eyes. 'Mission complete' thought Asta before his smirk quickly became a confused face, "why you guys staring at me?". "Did you seriously just ask that!?" shouted all the Black Bulls (minus Grey and Gauche). "We're staring cause you just kissed little miss royal over there!" shouted Magna as he pointed at Noelle. "So? It was just on the cheek" said Asta while smirking, "you should have seen what we did last night". In response Noelle pulled out her wand and blasted Asta into a wall, "you idiot! Don't say it like that!" shouted Noelle. "So...." said Vanessa as she put her arm on Noelle's shoulder, "what did happen last night then?". "U-uh we...uh" stuttered Noelle while her face was pure red, "w-we kissed" she said, muttering the last part. "I knew it!" shouted Liebe as he appeared beside Asta who was getting up. "So Rasta..." said Magna as he put his arm on Asta's shoulder, "does this mean you and Miss Royal over there are a thing?". "I don't know..." said Asta as he turned to look at Noelle, "are we?". In response Noelle nodded her head in confirmation causing all the Bulls to celebrate.
