Chapter 6: First Mission

The next morning Asta began to do his duties as a Magic Knight. 'Dammit, this is harder than I thought it would be' as he began to sweat, "much clothes do these people own!?" shouted Asta as he looked at a mountain of clothes. "I can't believe one of my duties as a Magic Knight is doing my squamate's laundry" said Asta as he began cleaning clothes. "Having fun Asta?" said Liebe as he hovered beside Asta, "oh yeah, having the time of my life" replied Asta sarcastically.

His next duty was to feed the magic beasts. "Alright let's try this again" said Asta as he walked towards the magic beasts with a chunk of meat. "Now sit!" said Asta causing the magic beasts to listen and sit. "Wow it worked" said Liebe as Asta looked smug. "You see, it's all about respect you just gotta-" before Asta could finish his sentence one of the magic beasts got Astas head in its mouth causing Asta to scream and flail around. "Yeah I see a lot of respect here" said Liebe in a monotone voice, "shut up and help me Liebe!" screamed a muffled Asta.

Finally it was time for Astas most dangerous task, waking up Captain Yami. Asta walked up to Yamis door and began knocking, "Captain Yami, it's time to wake up!" said Asta as he kept knocking. "Come on Captain! It's morning!" shouted Asta as he continued to knock, in response Yami shoved his katana through the door, "Shut up or I will kill you" said a monotone captain Yami. Hearing this causes Asta to run away, "you were the one who told me to wake you up though!" replied Asta as he ran.

After completing all of his tasks Asta went into the dining area for breakfast. Once in the dining area he saw everyone already eating. "Morning Asta!" said Magna, "yeah morning" said a tired Asta as he sat down beside Noelle. "What happened to you? You seem exhausted" said Noelle as she raised her eyebrow, " I was doing all of the morning tasks. Thanks for helping by the way" replied Asta. "How could I have helped?" said Noelle in an annoyed tone, "helping with the laundry and cleaning would have been nice" replied Asta. "Cleaning and laundry? I've never done anything like that in my entire life" said Noelle as she flipped one of her pigtails, "are you seriously bragging about being lazy!?" replied Asta. "Shut up insect" said Noelle, hearing this causes Asta to hit his head on the table while groaning "are we seriously back to insect?".

"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask" said Asta as he raised his head, "what exactly does a magic knight squad do?". "Huh!? Did you really just ask that!?" said Magna as he grabbed Astas cloak and started shaking him, "we keep the people safe it's the manliest job in the world! Why did you even want to join if you didn't know what we do!?". "Well those two sure are chipper today" said Finral as he watched Asta apologizing while Magna continued to shake him and berate him. "Geez, would someone tell him what a Magic Knight squad does!" said Magna as he let go of Asta and returned to his seat. "We uh protect the people and stuff like that" said Vanessa as she drank an entire glass of wine, "plus you meet a lot of handsome men on guard duty". "Uh ok..." said Asta as he sat back down. "For me it's about all the people you get to fight!" said Luck as he began to punch the air, "plus you can spend a bunch of time beating up bad guys and no one bats an eye". "It's also an excellent career, one that my sister Marie respects more than anything" said Gauche as he held up a picture of Marie. "You also get to eat a bunch of food!" said Charmy as she used her Cotton Creation Magic:Sheep Cook to create a mountain of food. Then Grey appeared behind Asta and Noelle, "All and all, it's a good job. I'm looking forward to going on a mission with you" said Grey while transformed to look like Asta as they patted the real Astas shoulder. 'These guys are all crazy' thought both Asta and Noelle.

A few minutes later Yami kicks down the door to the dining room. "Let's go Magna, it's time" said Yami, "yes sir" replied Magna sounding serious as he got up. "Hey, where are you guys going?" said Asta, "we're going on a mission" replied Magna. 'A real mission' thought Asta, "hey wait up I'll come too!" said Asta as he stood up. "No! This mission is for grown men, this isn't meant for kids, we'll be back" said Magna as he headed out the door. "Listen up you idiots, don't break anything while we're gone" said Yami as he also headed out the door. 'Captain Yami is going on a mission, he's even bringing Magna with him. Whatever the mission is, it must be crazy dangerous!' thought Asta
