Chapter 48: New Moves

'Alright! Time to take this chick and her oversized Gecko down!' thought Asta as his hands glowed with Anti-Magic. But just then, Fana launched a ball of fire towards Vanessa and Finral. "Shit! Vanessa, Finral, move!" shouted Asta after the blast shot right passed him. Just before the blast made contact, a dome of water surrounded the two, stopping the ball of fire. "Geez, I leave for a few minutes to put out some fires and this happens", Finral and Vanessa turn around to see Noelle standing behind them.

'Noelle! Her water magic will make this a lot easier!' thought Asta as he looked down toward the trio with a smile. 'Uh, Asta! Giant flaming claw incoming!", due to Liebe's shout, Asta turned to see the newly evolved Salamander going for a slash. "Crap!", Asta then put his right arm forward with his forearm and palm facing up and his left and horizontal to his left, "Royal Guard!". And thanks to his Royal Guard, Asta was.............bitch slapped into the ground in front of the dome.

"What the hell was that!?" shouted Liebe as he floated over Asta, who was embedded into the ground, "what the hell is a Royal Guard!?". Asta pulled himself out of the ground with a groan before rubbing the back of his head, "I don't know, it just sounded cool in my head". From over Asta's head, Finral and Vanessa flew out of the barrier along with Noelle riding on Vanessa's broom. Asta then took to the sky after them.

"Now would be the best time to launch that attack you were mentioning, Kid!" said Vanessa once Asta caught up to them. "Right! I'll take her down ri- look out!", suddenly a blast of fire magic from Salamander appeared and would have taken the two female mages down if Asta hadn't nullified the attack. "Dammit, I won't be able to launch it if she keeps throwing attacks at us!" said Asta, annoyed, he then turned back to the group, "I'll distract the overgrown lizard! Noelle, if you can land a sneak attack and stun that thing, that should give me a big enough opening to finish it off!".

In a streak of anti-magic, Asta charged towards Fana and Salamander. "I'm gonna kill you!" said Fana as she sent two balls of fire towards Asta. Using the flat side of Demon Slayer, Asta deflected the first blast back and caused it to collide with the second one. "Has anyone told you that you say that a lot?" said Asta with a smirk, "cause you really do!"

'Alright Noelle, you're the only one who can do this!' thought Noelle as she pulled out her wand, 'all I have to do is use a Sea Dragons Roar on her!'. Water began to swell around Noelle's wand as her magic began to flair up, 'I can do this! I'll show them how wrong they were about me!'. Then, like in the battle with Vetto, the head of a giant dragon shot out from Noelle's want.

Fana and Asta turned to see the giant dragon head coming straight from them. "Have fun!" said Asta as he gave a two fingered salute before diving down to avoid the attack. Before the Sea Dragon could land however, Fana created a shield of mineral that held off the attack long enough for Fana and Salamander to dodge. "No.....I'm not done yet!", just then, the Sea Dragons Roar then turned around mid-air and bit down on the back of Salamander, causing the spirit to scream out in pain. "Yes, it worked!" said Vanessa as she watched Salamander begin to fall out of the sky, "you got her!". "See that Asta?!" said Noelle as she looked at Asta, "I held up my side of the plan, make sure you do yours!". "Don't you worry! I'll make sure to keep up my side!" said Asta with a wide grin.

"I won't allow it!" said Fana. Suddenly, Fana created swords made of minerals and sent them at Asta. "I swear, the fact she can use two magic types is unfair!" shouted Finral. 'These blades! They're just like his!' thought Asta as he began maneuvering around them. Just then, Fana started using Flame Recovery Magic: Phoenix's Robe to heal Salamander. 'And that one too!?' thought Asta as he avoided the last blade, "Hey! This may sound weird, but do you have a brother who acts so edgy you could get a paper cut just by looking at him?! Cause he's just on the other side of the forest!". Fana looks down at Asta with a confused expression, "I don't know anyone like that! If I were to have any siblings it would be Licht and the people of the village!".
