Chapter 22: The Mixer

Asta and Noelle arrive at the front door of the Black Bulls base after returning from the Capital on Asta's sword. "Geez it's good to be home!" said Asta as he put his sword back into his grimoire. " I know what you mean, I'm exhausted" said Liebe as he stretched his back. "Wait, hold on" said Asta with a look of confusion, "how are you tired when me and Noelle were the ones doing all of the fighting?". "I'm exhausted by association" replied Liebe, "by association huh" replied Asta with an unamused face. "Of course, watching you fight really takes a lot out of me" said Liebe as he over dramatically leaned his head back. "Whatever drama queen" said Asta as he opened the door to the base, "I'm just ready to get inside and relax"

"Asta I need your help!"

"Me and my big mouth" sighed Asta as he watched Finral run towards him, "what do you need Finral?". "Asta, are you free tomorrow!?" shouted Finral as he grabbed Asta's shoulders. "I-I don't know" said Asta in a nervous voice, 'what the hell has gotten into Finral!?'. "You're free tomorrow kid" said Yami as he walked over to the two with a cigarette in his hand, "after the crap you two had to deal with, you and Noelle are taking tomorrow off". "O-ok Captain Yami" said Asta as he turned his attention back to the clearly distraught Finral, "well what do you need from me Finral"

"I need you to come with me to a mixer tomorrow"

"I'm sorry wha....?"

Asta looked at Finral with a deadpan look on his face, "I'm sorry that's a new one. What did you just say?". "Please Asta I'm begging you! I set up a mixer with three beautiful girls! I was able to get Luck to agree but I need a third guy!" said Finral as he clasped his hands together as if he was praying. "You do realize there is like 3 other guys in the Bulls you could have asked right?" said Asta as he squinted his eyes at Finral. "You honestly think they would do well in a mixer!? Magna would just show off Crazy Cyclone, Yami would just insult them and Gauche would just show pictures of Marie!" said Finral as returned his grip to Asta's shoulders and began to shake him, "please Asta, you're the only other person I can take!". "Finral, I think you're forgetting something really important" said Asta which caused Finral to stop shaking him. "Really? What is it?' said Finral causing Asta to facepalm himself. "I'm already with Noelle genius!" said Asta, "do you want her to waterboard me!?".

"Why would I want to waterboard you?" said Noelle as she walked over to the two causing Asta to jump out of his skin. "Ah Noelle!" shouted Asta in fear causing Noelle to raise her eyebrow in confusion, "Uh, well y-you see uh-". "Finral wants Asta to come with him to a mixer" interrupted Liebe as he pointed at Asta. "What?" said Noelle in an annoyed voice as she glared at Asta. "N-Noelle I swear I was saying no to going as you were walking up!" said Asta as he held up his hands. "Fine" sighed Noelle as she put her hand on her face, "you can go''. "What!?" said both Asta and Finral but Finral was much louder. "Knowing Finral he won't stop begging until you agree to go so it's easier to just say yes" said Noelle as she slid her hand down her face as she walked over to Asta and grabbed his collar. "But, if you even think of getting too chummy with any of the girls I will use that waterboard idea. Am I clear?". "Y-yes ma'am" said Asta as he began to sweat bullets. "Good" said Noelle as she turned around and walked away from Asta and Finral. "Alright what time does it start tomorrow?" sight Asta as he turned to Finral, "tomorrow evening. Thanks Asta I really appreciate this'' replied Finral. "Whatever, but if I get waterboarded I'm gonna make sure you get the same thing" said Asta before left to go to his room for the night.

Asta walks into his room and Liebe begins to float beside him. "Well look at you, first you get a girlfriend and then a few day you're going to a mixer" said Liebe in a mocking voice, "Mom would be so proud of how much of a ladies man you've become". "Haha, very funny" said Asta as he tried to swat Liebe like he was a fly. "Ugghh why did I agree to go!?" groaned Asta as he lied down in his bed. "Relax, it's not like you have to go home with any of them, you're just going to fill a seat" said Liebe as he floated down beside Asta. "Yeah I guess you're right" said Asta as he turned to Liebe, "who knows maybe it won't be so bad".
