Chapter 52: Bloody Conclusion

Noelle and Fanzell could only look in shock and horror as they saw Ladros floating in the air. 'This is the worst possible scenario!' thought Fanzell, 'with the power of Salamander and Asta's Anti-Magic, I fear Ladros has become unstoppable!'. Asta slowly got to his feet as he looked up at the newly Anti-Magic boosted Ladros, "you really are a one-trick pony". "Keep talking, it'll just make me want to kill you even more slowly" said Ladros before dashing towards Asta. Attempting to counter the incoming attack, Asta went for his own punch, only for Ladros to vanish before he could land his strike. Asta then turned around to feel a fist crash into his cheek, sending him flying back.

With a swipe of his hand, Asta sent one of his swords flying at Ladros. WIth a smirk, Ladros caught the blade in his hand, "looks like I can touch these things without losing my magic". Asta's expression grew angry before he gasped for air as he left Ladros' fist slam into his stomach. Asta clenched his stomach as he took a step back in pain. "Asta..." said Noelle with a horrified expression.

"Aw, what's the matter?" said Ladros with a wide smirk as he walked towards Asta and threw the sword away, "it's not as fun when the shoes are on the other foot". Ladros punched Asta in the face only for Asta to land his own at the same time. "But unlike you, I can still fight back!" said Asta as he pushed forward and landed another hard punch to Ladros' stomach. Both combatants jump back to make some space between the two. "I have to admit, you are packing a punch" said Asta as he cracked his neck, "but your loss is still certain". "You can say that, but I just threw you around like a rag doll" said Ladros, "with my new power, you're just an ant waiting to be squashed!"

"We'll see about that", Asta then brought his fists up and took a combat stance, while Ladros just stared at him. No one made a sound, the only sounds that could be heard was the cracking of small fire caused by the previous battles. The first one to make a move was Asta as he shot forward, ready to throw a punch. Ladros smirked as he caught the punch and countered with his own to Asta's stomach before sending him flying through the forest with another punch to the face. Ladros floated into the sky, only to see Asta shoot out of the trees directly towards him. With a smile he charged forward as well. Both combatants locked hands and began a pushing match. Asta was clearly putting his all while Ladros had a smile on his face before with a simple turn of his hands, he flipped Asta completely upside down before landing a hard knee to the stomach, causing Asta to gasp for air. Asta responded with his own knee to Ladros' head. The two traded some blows until Asta was sent back.

Gaining control of himself, Asta flew away to put some distance between himself and Lardos from his injured friends. Ladros was quick on his tail. Both landed a fair distance away from the clearing. Asta launched forward and threw two quick punches to Ladros' face, both of which were dodged when Ladros moved his head to the side and counted with a hard fist to Asta's check. Asta tried several attacks in an attempt to land a hit but all were evaded by Ladros before being knocked around by various punches and kicks. Ladros then swiped his land down creating a massive slash that knocked Asta over and carved into the ground, only getting wider the farther it went. "Was that too much, I'm still getting used to this?" said Ladros with a sarcastic tone as he brought his fist up". Asta glared at him as he got back up.

"It's over" said Fanzell, "even with that armor Asta can't defeat Ladros with the power he has now". "Don't underestimate Asta" replied Noelle, "he may be an idiot but he always finds a way to pull through".

Just then, a scream could be heard as Asta flew through the trees and rolled on the ground as he fell out of Black Knight mode. Both Noelle and Fanzell called Asta's name before looking up as they heard laughing. "Fight back!? I'd barely call that a fight!" said Ladros as he pointed his palm at the clearing, "I think I'll stop wasting my time and just wide all of you off the face of the earth. Thanks for the power kid, but it's over!". Asta slowly got up and was looking at Ladros, but confusing everyone, he was smirking, "you're right Ladros, this is over"
