Chapter 4: The Black Bulls

Asta began to walk toward the base of the Black Bulls with Liebe on his shoulder, 'so this is the base of a magic knight squad' thought both Asta and Liebe. Almost as if planned, the front door of the base exploded, 'It exploded!?' screamed Asta and Liebe in their heads. As the smoke began to clear Asta and Liebe were able to see the mayhem that was taking place inside. "Okay, now I'm pissed! Are you ready to get your butt kicked!?" screamed a man in with a black and purple hair using a baseball bat made of fire to send balls of fire towards a shorter blonde haired male. "I'm ready, bring it on!" said the blonde haired knight as he began dodging the balls of fire. "Ugh I drank too much booze, now I have a headache" said a pink haired female Magic Knight who was practically naked. "You look beautiful as ever my darling Marie. Would you idiots shut up!" shouted a taller male with brown hair. Asta then saw a shorter female eating an ungodly amount of food and a giant male exhaling steam."Yah, no I'm out you're on your own Asta" said Liebe as he disappeared, 'What kind of squad did I join!' thought Asta as he witnessed the carnage.

'Woah, this place is totally insane! But starting today I'm gonna be a Black Bull too! Gotta make a good first impression!' thought Asta as he took a step forward into the carnage, "My names Asta, and starting today I'm a member of the Black Bulls! It's nice to meetcha!" shouted Asta. Unfortunately despite Asta volume no one heard him through the comotion, 'nobody heard me' thought Asta with a confused smile.After his failed introduction Asta was hit in the face with a fireball sending him flying back. "That's for stealing my pudding you shit!" shouted the mage with the mohawk, "hehe but it was so tasty!" replied the blonde mage. "Would you two be quiet my headache is killing me" groaned the pink female mage, "shaddap, you boozing hussy!" replied the mohawk mage, "what you call me you virgin delinquent", "I'm not a virgin!". "In the name my darling sister, I will kill you" said the tall brown haired mage. "Would you idiots stop breaking everything!" shouted Yami as he destroyed a wall with this fist, 'how can you say that after destroying a wall!?' thought Asta. Yami causes all the Black Bulls to stop what they were doing and begin bombarding Yami with questions. "I see, I see. You guys like me a lot huh" said Yami while laughing, "but you're being annoying so can it!" he said, changing his tone from happy to threatening. "Sorry sir!" they all said scared as they all sat down in a line in front of Yami. "By the way, this kid here is our new recruit. Don't haze him so hard he dies" said Yami as he points to Asta. "My name is Asta from Hage village! It's nice to meetcha!" said Asta for a second time. "We have more members, but the rest are either on missions or on break. Try to get along with 'em" said Yami to Asta."Finral, introduce him to the rest of the members" said Yami to Finral, "Uh sure. The big guy is Grey, he doesn't really say anything" said Finral, as a reply grey just lets out a puff of smoke. "Then we have Gauche Adlai '', Gauche then pushed a picker of his sister into Astas face threatening to kill him if Asta touched his sister. "Next is Vanessa Enoteca", "Hage village? Isn't it some teeny place in the sticks" said Vanessa to Asta. "You're from the boonies and you still got in... you must have worked hard. How about I give you a reward as a treat" said Vanessa getting uncomfortably close to Asta, "Uh I'm good thanks!" replied Asta nervously. Immediately after Asta said no Vanessa threw up in front of Asta, 'she almost threw up one me!' thought Asta as he backed away. "Next we have Luck Voltia" said Finral, "hey, hey you wanna fight to the death" said Luck as he began punching the air in front of Asta, 'to the death!?' thought Asta. " Last but not least we have-" before Finral could finish his sentence the mage with the mohawk interrupted him. "Hey, so you're a new Black Bull!? Some kid from the back end of nowhere?" said the mohawk mage, 'geez this guy is intense!' thinks Asta. "I dunno how you sucked up to Captain Yami. But if you wanna wear our robe... then you gotta earn the respect of me, Magna Swing!" said Magna as he pulled out a Black Bulls robe. 'A Magic Knight robe!' thought Asta, "yes please!". "Then you gotta earn it through a trial by fire" said Magna with a sadistic smile.

Magna began to walk towards the front lawn of the base, seeing this caused Asta and the rest of the Black Bulls to follow him. "Alright what do I have to do in this so-called trial by fire?" said Asta as he began to stretch. "It's simple, all you have to do is avoid or block one of my attacks and you can wear the Black Bull robe " said Magna as he activated his grimoire. "He's making up trials again" said Vanessa yawning, "hey it's fine, this is fun" replied Luck laughing. "So all I have to do is stop one of your attacks right?" said Asta, "heh don't make it sound so simple kid" replied Magna with a chuckle. "Hey Asta let's use my power this time" said Liebe as he reappeared on Astas shoulder, "yeah I guess it's only fair since I used my power on the last guy. Although don't think this let's you off the hook for leaving me alone to deal with the chaos" replied Asta. "There is that creature again. What the hell is it?" thought yami as he witnessed Liebe and Astas conversation. "Alright let's do this!" shouted Asta as he brought his right hand up. Astas right forearm began to turn black. "I'm ready whenever you are Manga sir!" shouted Asta as he got into a stance to show that he was ready. "Fine but don't blame me if you get burned!" shouted Magna as he created a fireball in his hand. "Welp, time to get ready to save another rookie" said Finral as he pulled out his grimoire, "I don't think that'll be necessary" replied Yami. "Really,why?" said Finral confused, "call it a hunch" said Yami as he took a breath from his cigarette. "Flame Magic:Exploding Fireball!" shouted Magna as he threw the fireball at an incredible speed. 'His attack is fast but....' thought Asta as he pulled his anti-magic hand back, 'I'm faster!'. Asta then threw his fist forward connecting it with Magnas fireball, the clash caused the fireball to be sent back towards Magna causing an explosion. 'That was the first time I didn't need to save a rookie in a long time. I guess Yami was right' thought Finral. 'So not only can he erase magic, he can send it back' thought Yami. 'Geez what was that guy thinking, was he seriously trying to kill me?' thought Asta as he looked at the smoke from the explosion, 'wait', "oh shit did I kill him!?" said Asta as he began panicking.

" You little bastard" said Magna as he walked out of the smoke with burnt clothes and messed up hair. 'Oh crap, he's angry!' thought Asta as Magna started to get closer. "I almost got killed by my own magic, yooouuu!" said Magna angry, 'this is gonna be ugly' thought Liebe. "You are totally awesome!" Magna said laughing, "wha" said Asta and Liebe."Not only did you stop my attack you sent it back at me! Not to mention you did it by punching it, talk about manly! I like you Rasta!" said Magna as he began to pat Asta on the back hard, "It's Asta!" replied Asta. "I'm actually from the sticks too! I'm from Rayaka village!" said Magna, "Wow that's even further into the stick than Hage" said Asta shocked.

In an instant Luck, Charmy and Vanessa all began bombarding Asta with praise, questions and in Gauches case threats. "Alright now it's time for the second trial, you and I have to fight to the death!" said Luck, 'what's with this guy and fighting to the death!?' thought Asta and Liebe. "Here this is yummy. Go on try it!" said Charmy as she gave Asta a cupcake, "Oh thanks" said Asta as he took the cupcake and took a bite. "Wow this is good! Liebe you've got to try this" said Asta with stars in his eyes as he gave Liebe a piece, "Wow this is good!" said Liebe after taking a bite and immediately finishing his piece. "Here, it's yours Asta!" said Magna as he gave Asta the Black Bulls robe. 'While we're at it' thought Vanessa as she put the Black Bull logo on Astas bandanna. "Now you're an official member of the Black Bulls!" said Magna as Asta put on his robe. 'I did it mom, I'm in a Magic Knight squad!' thought Asta with a smile. "Hey Asta I'm still hungry give me more of that cupcake" said Liebe as he went to get more, "what no! Get your own cupcake!" said Asta as he moved the cupcake away from Liebe. "By the way who is this little cutie" said Vanessa as she began poking Liebes face, "Ah quit poking me!" said Liebe as he flew to Astas other shoulder. "Oh sorry, this is Liebe, he's my older brother" said Asta while smiling. "Older brother!?" shouted all the Black Bulls while Asta and Liebe had a look of confusion.

Unknown to Asta and Liebe there was an extra spectator on the balcony of the base. "So he's the other new member. What an insect" said the female mage with silver hair as she flipped one of her pigtails.

Sorry that this chapter is smaller than the first three. Next chapter will also most likely be shorter too, but once Asta and co. start actually going on missions the chapter lengths will increase
