Chapter 41: End of the Battle

"Do me a favor and hibernate for a while"

Asta could barely stand due to exhaustion, he turned around to see all of his friends running towards him. He was only able to give a quick smile before he lost his armor and fell down, but was caught by a hug from Noelle. "Please don't tell me you're gonna hit me like last time" said Asta while smirking at Noelle. "I'll let you off this time" replied Noelle, smirking back. "Thanks, I-!", before Asta could finish, a wave of pain hit his right arm. Screaming in pain as he held his arm and fell to his knees, his arm began to turn purple and he could feel the already fractured bones in his arm fully breaking. 'Was this what he was trying to do earlier!?' thought Asta as he clenched his arm. "Oh my god, Asta! Are you ok!?" said Noelle as she kneeled down beside Asta. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine" said Asta as he calmed down and caught his breath before turning to the knocked out Vetto, "just one last little present from him".

"Bro, that was incredible!" shouted Liebe as he appeared and started floating beside Asta, " I thought you were about to die there, but you're way too stubborn to die I guess". "I'm glad my near battle to the death was entertaining" said Asta as he rolled his eyes at Liebe, "what, did you have a bowl of popcorn you were eating while you watched your little brother almost be beaten to death?". "Hey! First I'll have you know I was being quiet to not distract you!" shouted Liebe before crossing his arms before smirking, "and second yes, and it was delicious".

"I gotta hand it to you Rasta, you fought like a beast out there!" said Magna as he patted Asta on the back, "that last punch was manly as hell and don't get me started on that armor!". Luck then pushes Magna out of the way, "speaking of that armor, you and I need to fight and you need to use that against me!". "I don't think either of us are in the condition to fight right now Luck" said Asta as he awkwardly smiled. The group began to laugh, they were finally able to relax after this near-death experience.

"Don't cry Vetto"

"They were tormenting this baby bird. I couldn't forgive them. Thank you for always helping me, Licht"

"What are you talking about? I'm your friend, I'll always be there to help you. Still, we're just like this bird. We're not strong, but they're jealous that we can fly, so they hurt us. But I....I've got a feeling that someday we and the humans will be able to understand each other!"

'Hope, hm? It really was sweet. To us, Licht was hope itself. But that hope was stolen from us by you humans!'

Magic began to be released from Vetto's third away before fully enveloping his body in a massive red sphere of mana that turned the entire cave the same red hue and slowly floating into the air. "Are you kidding me!?" shouted Finral in shock, "he's still not down!?".

'I will take you all with me...no...I'll blow this entire temple to pieces!'

"It's just like that time at the cave! Even the captains couldn't stop it!" said Finral as he remembered Licht's last attack from the cave, "and this guy has the same amount of mana...no he has even more!". "Is he trying to self-destruct!? It keeps growing! It keeps destroying my threads before they can even reach him!" said Vanessa as she watched her threads burn away if they got too close to the sphere. "Damn bastard" said Asta as he slowly started to get up, "that's barely even a cat-nap let alone a hibernation". "Asta, you can't fight him, you're too hurt!" said Noelle as she got up with him. "I don't really have a choice do I?" said Asta as he grabbed Demon Slayer with his non-broken arm. Before Asta could take a step forward, a blur landed in front of them in a cloud of smoke.

"Hey, you idiots. What did I miss?"

Captain Yami was standing in front of them with his katana out. "Captain Yami!?" shouted all of the Bulls with shocked expressions. " B-But you were trapped!" said Noelle. " Well as you can see, I got out. I had to bust a few things though" replied Yami. "Showing up at the last minute to take all the glory, huh Captain?" said Asta before he felt Yami's hand on his head and it started crushing him. "Where did all this big talk come from? You think just because you took down a bad guy means you're all that?" said Yami as he crushed Asta's skull. Yami's hand stopped squeezing before beginning to ruffle Asta's hair, "I'm saying I can take him on my own. You've done enough here kid. You put up one hell of a fight, let me handle the clean up". Yami then put his hand on all of the Black Bulls before walking toward Vetto.
