Chapter 37: The Roar of a Dragon

"You royal family scum"

Noelle and Kahono stood at the entrance of the room. 'He took down Luck and Magna so easily!' thought Noelle as she felt herself starting to sweat, 'he's also the one who beat Asta!'. "I can already see the fear on your face child" said Vetto, causing Noelle to flinch, "this kind of reaction just from meeting me face to face? Bringing you down to despair will be simple!". This was the first time Noelle had met Vetto in person. He had a physic that rivaled Yami and if what Asta said was true, power as well. She then noticed something no one from the cave previously mentioned, Vetto had metal gauntlets on each hand that covered up to his fore-arm and had three curved spikes that grew in size the further the fore-arm went. 'He must be wearing those to fight Asta!' thought Noelle as she started to sweat more, 'how are we supposed to beat a guy who is stronger than a captain!?' ."Don't listen to him Noelle!" said Kahono, snapping Noelle out of her fear, "don't give him what he wants!"

"Kahono! Are you ok!?"

Noelle and Kahono turned to see Kiato running up to them. "Brother! I'm glad to see you!" said Kahono, "with the three of us I'm sure we can beat this guy!". "I'm happy to see you in one piece, sis" replied Kiato, "Asta should be here in a few minutes, then odds will definitely be in our favor!". "Wait!? You were with Asta!? Where is he!?" said Noellle. Kiato then turned to Noelle, "well.....".

A Few Minutes Ago

Asta and Kiato were running towards the massive mana signature. "This mana feels like multiple raging beasts!" said Kiato while they were running. "Yeah, that sounds like Vetto alright" replied Asta, "don't let your guard down against him. His power is no joke". "Coming from you, this guy must be a real monster" said Kiato as he rubbed his jaw.

Suddenly, a blast of magic appeared in front of the two. "Watch out!" shouted Asta as he pushed Kiato out of the way as well as jumping to the side. From the shadows, four Eye of the Midnight Sun members revealed themselves. "Those are allies of Vetto!" said Asta as he pulled out Demon Slayer. "What do you people want!" shouted Kiato as he readied his blades. "We want nothing to do with you boy" said one of the mages before turning to Asta, "our business is with him". "What do you want with me!?" said Asta. "Master Vetto wants to save you till after all your allies are defeated, our job is to make sure that happens" replied the mage as all four mages readied their grimoire, "the temple mage may leave, but you will not be leaving!". "You think I'm just gonna leave then you're mistaken!", Kiato was about to attack but was stopped when Asta put his hand up. "Go and help the other Kiato" said Asta, causing Kiato's eyes to widen, "I can take these guys myself! You go and help fight Vetto, I'll be right behind you!". Begrudgingly, Kiato nodded and ran past the mages with no resistance, leaving Asta to handle the mages.

Current Time

"And that's about it" said Kiato. This didn't ease Noelle's nerves at all, not only was Vetto prepared to fight Asta, he wanted to save Asta for last!. "There's nothing we can do about it now" said Kahono before walking over and standing beside Kiato. "You ready sis?" said Kiato, which got a nod from his sister. "Let's show him what the citizens of the Underwater Temple can do!" replied Kahono, "for the sake of our dream, we can't lose here!. Kahono began to sing while Kiato started to dance to the rhythm of her singing, confusing Vetto. Suddenly, Kiato began to glow with magic power before charging at Vetto.

"Combo Magic: Sea Gods Slash!" shouted Kiato before releasing a wave of magic from one of his slashes which actually caused a cut to form on Vetto's shoulder. Kahono's singing reinforces Kiato's dance magic which causes him to use his slashing magic attacks. 'A singing swallow and a dancing mouse' thought Vetto as he blocked one of the slashes sent by Kiato, 'I never would have expected such impressive magic from such a remote place'. 'We were able to create this magic cause we were born here!' thought Kiato as he continued to send slash after slash towards Vetto, "we served the Sea God, praying, singing and dancing....we spent our lives this way, slowly weaving this magic into our lives!". "Ever since we were little, we have offered this song and dance to the Sea God and our people!" shouted Kahono as memories of her and Kiato performing to everyone in the temple flooded her mind. "This spell signifies the bond we have with the people of the Underwater Temple!" shouted both Kahono and Kiato as he broke Vetto guard and was ready to land a deceive strike, "You'll never break it!".
