Sofia's first week at Hogwarts went by pretty quickly. Her anxiety had lessened throughout the whole week as she got into the grove of things. By Friday, she could even go as far as saying that she actually liked going to most of her classes.

Neville continued to walk her to each and every single one of her classes (even if he wasn't in the same one as her). He noticed that Sofia seemed a lot better with going as the week progressed, but he still wanted to make sure she made it to all of her classes okay.

And as of now, everyone was eating dinner in the Great Hall. Sofia was talking to her new found friends, but Neville the most of course.

Sofia looked up when she noticed something flying through the windows of the Great Hall. A few owls flew overhead with letters clenched in their claws, or even tucked in their beaks. One dropped a letter right in front of Sofia, and she smiled knowing automatically who it was from.

"Mail's a bit late this week I suppose." Ginny announced as she watched Sofia open the envelope addressed with her name on it.

Neville watched the girl intently as she began to read,

Hello Sweetheart!

Oh my goodness! It feels like forever since I've seen you. I hope this letter gets to you ASAP. Your father and I miss you so so much. You've been the only thing on my mind this past week. I can't stop thinking about you and what you may be doing. Your father and I heard that you were sorted into Gryffindor! We're so proud of you, darling. I cannot wait until Christmas so I can hug you again. Have you made any new friends? I sure hope you have. But, why wouldn't you? You're the most lovable young woman I've ever met. Your father hasn't stopped worrying about you. He hasn't stopped missing you. I swear that man misses you even more than I do! I'm not really sure how these owls work, so by the time you get this I'll probably still be stressing over if this letter had reached you or not. Please write back to me soon! I want to know all about the things you've done already, your classes, your new friends. Please! I'm absolutely dying to know. I also wanted to ask you about the Herbology classes there. Are they nice? They must be better than the ones at our old school. Anyways... I love you with everything I have. Please make good choices and do your best! Your father & I love you and are thinking of you always!

- Sincerely, Mom XOXO

Sofia smiled brightly as she read the letter a few times over again.

A sadness gloomed over her though, because she missed her parents dearly. Her mom also didn't really say how her dad was doing, only mentioning him a bit. But, not in the ways Sofia wanted.

"Who is that from?" Lily asked, looking over Sofia's shoulder trying to read the letter.

"My mom,"

"Oh, that's really sweet."

Sofia neatly folded the letter back and slid it back inside the envelope. Neville continued to watch her as she did so.

Sofia stayed silent for her rest of dinner, only speaking when someone asked her question. Neville noticed how the girl went quiet when she just had looked so happy reading the letter.

When dinner was over, Sofia started to walk alone. She was thinking about her parents. Her dad in particular.

She was heading to the common room, until she decided against it. She wanted to be able to think for a bit, just have some time to herself.
