Sofia hugging her Dad was the most comfortable thing she had experienced. Running up to him and wrapping her arms around her father at the platform made her feel like she was seeing him after her first day of Kindergarten again.
"Hello, sweetheart!" her Father mused, making her smile.
She had seemed to forget what her Father's signature scent was these last few months. He always smelled like his green apple cologne that he would purchase in bulk.
"I missed you, Dad..."
The man smiled as he hugged his daughter back, happy to see her joyful smile again.
"Do I not get a hug?"
Sofia looked over, and her mom stood there with her arms crossed, and a smirk on her face. Sofia giggled, and practically jumped into her Mother's arms. There was nothing like her parent's hugs. She didn't realized how much she missed their warm embrace until now.
"Who was that boy you were talking to, Sofia?" He'd Father asked, and Sofia turned around to see Neville still looking over at her as he talked to Seamus.
"That's Neville..."
She smiled at him, and he smiled back at her.
Her mother laughed, "So thats the boy you've been telling me all about,". Her mother winked at her, and Sofia lightly nudged her side.
"Whatever, Mom! Let's get home, please. My back and is killing me!" Sofia strained, and her parents agreed.
Neville watched as Sofia helped her Dad get through the exit of the platform. He walked with a cane, and limped a bit.
How is he getting to the platform? I thought Muggles couldn't get through?
Neville shrugged, not wanting to stress himself out about the question.
He soon realized that there seemed to be a piece of him missing. He didn't feel the same as he did just ten minutes before.
Sofia happily walked through the station with her parents, and finally arrived the their car. Their new car it seemed.
"You were right, Mom! This car is awesome!"
They all got in, Sofia's Mother laughing at her daughter amusement.
The family began to all converse, and Sofia began to tell them about all the things that had happened at Hogwarts. "My friends even got me a blueberry muffin with candles to blow out at midnight, like you guys have always done."
Her parents looked at each other, and simply smiled.
"I'm glad you have such amazing friends there, sweetheart. You don't know worried me and your Dad were when you first left." her Mom admitted, still keeping her eyes glued to the road.
Sofia smiled to herself ash she leaned into the backseat she was sitting in.
"Yeah, yeah! I'm happy for you, Sof—but I'm starving!" Sofia's Dad looked at Sofia, "What about you?" he asked her.
She nodded her head at her father, and agreed.
"Well, you two can wait until we get home. I'm making pasta tonight." Sofia's Mom snapped at them, and Sofia rolled her eyes. She just wanted to go out to eat, she hadn't in so long.
Sofia'a Dad then dramatically clenched his stomach and groaned,
"But—but—I'm gonna die if you don't let me eat, darling! I can—" his eyes went wide, "I can feel myself slowly... starving to death..." he then jokingly fell back into his seat, closing his eyes.
