It would be simple to say that the conversation between McGonagall and Neville was easy... but that would just be a lie.
Professor McGonagall made Neville recite every event that happened on that bewildering evening. She told Neville that Bransen's disturbing behaving was inexcusable. There was no way he was getting away with it without a real punishment.
Neville had told his friends all about the conversation, and how he was worried about Sofia. None of them were shocked, considering Neville always worried about Sofia. Even when she was right there beside him.
A couple days had went by. None of the girls had barely spoken to Sofia, and Sofia hadn't made an attempt to speak to them. Honestly, it was teenage girls being petty towards each other.
It was after dinner, and Sofia had skipped her meal once again. She hadn't really been in the mood for eating.
Sofia puffed on a cigarette, staring at the outside world out of her window. She was expecting a letter from her Mother.
She started to think deeply. Her thoughts were clouded with things like,
What's going to happen to Bransen?
Does McGonagall actually believe me?
Am I in trouble?
Did McGonagall tell my parents?
What did Neville tell her?
Suddenly, Sofia heard a knock at her door. She quickly put out her cigarette, and flicked it outside.
"Who is it?" she yelled,
"Uh... it's Neville..."
Sofia thought for a moment,
"You can come in."
Before Sofia could even take another breath, her door swung open. Neville stood at the entrance for a moment, and stared at her. Frank lifted his head up from Sofia's pillow, and gave a great hiss towards the boy,
"Frank! We don't hiss at people!" Sofia barked over at him, and the cat jumped off of her bed, stretched, and strutted out the room. Of course, not forgetting to give Neville the death stare before he left.
"What did I do?" Neville asked, letting his eyes wander on the cat as he walked out.
"Nothing. Frank is just an ass, sometimes."
Neville nodded, and closed the door behind him as he stepped into the room. He sighed as he walked over towards Sofia.
"How are you?"
Sofia laughed, "I've been better..." she looked back out the window, "You?"
Neville took a deep breath before answering, "The same, I suppose..."
Sofia nodded, letting him know that she heard him.
The two sat in silence for a couple of minutes. Neither of them knew what to say. Well, they knew what they wanted to say, but they couldn't bring out the courage to say it.
"Sofia?" Neville finally spoke up. Sofia had always managed to make him feel brave, even when he knew he wasn't.
"Yeah?"
Neville stared at her for a moment, "Why haven't you spoken to me?" he realized his voice had cracked, and his throat began to burn, "What did I do wrong?"
Sofia looked up at him, as his figure towered over her. "You didn't do anything, Neville. I haven't spoken to anyone... it's not anything personal."
