Lily and Sofia sat on Lily's bed chatting as the dirty blonde painted her friend's nails red for the quidditch match that evening. Sofia would be lying is she said she wasn't excited to go. She had heard students talk about quidditch ever since she arrived at Hogwarts, and everyone was hyped up for the season to begin.

"Sof?"

Sofia looked up from her nails that were now painted a dark red.

"Your birthday is in a couple weeks. You said it was on Halloween, right?"

"Yeah, why?"

Lily shrugged as she continued to stare at Sofia's nails, carefully coating them.

"Just asking..."

Sofia only realized then that her birthday was in a couple of weeks. She would be finally turning 16. She felt a bit sad about it, considering she always thought her parents would throw her a huge sweet 16 like all of her cousins had gotten. But, she figured she could still enjoy her birthday at Hogwarts.

"Do they look good?" Lily asked, snapping Sofia out of the deep thought she was losing herself in.

Sofia nodded, "They look really good."

Lily laughed and thanked her friend that was amazed at how perfect her nails looked at the moment. "Well, don't move or you'll ruin them. Just sit and let them dry."

A few minutes passed by with silence filling the dorm, and Sofia looked down at her nails that she had refused to mess up. The paint looked dry in her eyes, but she couldn't stop herself from touching her left thumb nail just to make sure.

'Okay, they're good.'

Sofia noticed that she really hadn't seen Lily all day, only until earlier when she came back from studying with Neville in the library to get ready for the quidditch game. Lily wasn't gossiping about anyone, she wasn't going into detail about some of the things that had happened in her day, in fact, she acted off.

"Are you okay, Lily? You seem a bit off."

Lily furrowed her eyebrows at her friend, and then quickly looked away.

"I'm good, Sof. Don't worry about me."

Sofia raised an eyebrow at her, noticing her tone was different than how it usually sounded. Something was definitely wrong.

"Lils... tell me what's wrong. I can tell you're upset. You're acting different than normal..." Sofia pleaded. It really bothered her to see Lily like this, as she was used to the girl be hyperactive always.

Lily sighed, and sat beside her friend on the bed.

"Dean and me got in a really bad argument today..."

Sofia frowned a bit,

"We've been arguing quite a lot lately. It started a few weeks ago. But, it really hasn't started to bother me until now, I suppose."

"What was it about? If you mind me asking,"

Lily ran a hand through her dirty blonde locks, and looked over at Sofia, then looked down at her feet.

"The way I treat his friends. He said that I can be a right bitch sometimes for not reason. It really hurt me."

Sofia was a bit shocked. She never knew that Dean could call her something like that, and she never really thought Lily was mean to Dean's friends.

"Maybe I just need to stop joking around so much, ya know? I don't exactly have a filter, and I never really know when to this big mouth of mine..."
