Cynthia sat in the taxi fighting back tears and was filled with confusion about what had transpired. She knew she was falling deeply in love with Freddie and thought his feelings were similar or approaching her feelings, but his actions were shocking. She knew he tried to physically hurt her, but why?  He did seem strange, certainly not "Freddie," not recognizable, it was almost as if he was in a trance. Cynthia felt he didn't know what he was doing.

Cynthia's thoughts quickly left as she doubled up in pain between her legs and the lower part of her abdomen. She had to get to a doctor or hospital.."

"Please, driver, can you drive a little faster, I'm in pain." Cynthia asked

"Yes, mam." and he picked up some speed.

They arrived at the Ritz and Cynthia threw some money at the driver and hurried into the hotel. She felt light-headed and leaned against a wall for a minute seeing Rosalie and Rod Stewart in the lobby. Rosalie caught sight of her and waved as Cynthia walked towards them, stopped, wavered, and fainted. Rod ran to Cynthia and picked her up and placed her on a sofa as Rosalie cried out and pointed to Cynthia's legs and skirt, covered in blood.

                                              -----------------------

Cynthia was starting to awaken,  trying to open her eyes. The faint light streaming into her hospital room from the blinds sprayed across her face. Where was she, she wondered? She tried to move and felt pain in her abdomen and between her legs. Cynthia reached down between her legs and felt a packing bandage and began to panic.  She now saw she was in a hospital room and the buzzer lay attached to her pillow which she kept pressing. A nurse walked in and asked how she was feeling.

"Uh, why, uh, what happened to me?" Cynthia asked in a whisper as her throat hurt from the intubation.

"Please, don't try to talk. The doctor will be in momentarily and I will get you some ice chips to soothe your throat. Btw, you have a Miss Rosalie outside, do you want to see her?" the nurse asked. Cyn nodded vigorously.

Rosalie came in with a vase of flowers and  a look of worry and confusion.

"Cynthia, what the  hell happened?" she asked.

"Rosalie, what the fuck happened to me, why am I in a hospital, how did I get here?" Cyn cried.

"Well, you entered the lobby, saw Rod and me and fainted. He ran over, picked you up and carried you to a sofa and we called an ambulance" Rosalie answered.  "Cyn, you were bleeding quite a lot."

"Oh Rosalie, it was horrible. It was Freddie."

"FREDDIE?" she interrupted.

"Yes, he, er, he, hurt me" Cyn said softly.

"Wha....."

The doctor walked in interrupting Rosalie and introduced himself. "I am Doctor Atkinson, and you are very lucky young lady."

"Lucky, what are you talking about?" Cynthia asked quite loudly.

"Er, can I talk in front of this young lady? he asked.

"Yes of course" Cyn replied.

"You had a vaginal tear, a quite  large one actually. Have you had any extremely rough sex or masturbation? I don't have any hospital records on you so I don't know your medical history, but have you had any chemotherapy in the past five years?"

"What, what has that got to do with anything?"

"Chemotherapy has been known in some instances to cause a weakening, a thinning so to speak of membraneous tissue such as the eyes, vagina walls etc. You had a thinning and either rough sex or masturbation caused the rupture. I say you were lucky, because if left undetected, the walls become even thinner and if they rupture by themselves it can cause irreparable damage which could result in a hysterectomy." Dr. Atkinson explained.
