Freddie has a lot of dialogue in this chapter. He's coming to terms with a lot of nagging questions. I'm sorry, my lovelies, this story seems to have turned into more of a mystery than planned. Just go with it and I will pull it back as soon as I can.

If you all are questioning it and scratching your heads, what do you think I'm doing? fdl

Sorry for the shorter chapter, but I'll make it up to all of you.

Freddie and Phoebe arrived at the New Scotland Yard and were ushered into Sir Peter's office immediately.

"Sir Peter, this is Peter Freestone my personal assistant, confidant, and friend. He lives with me and is absolutely essential. It is important for him to hear all. After all, four ears are better than two, and what's the difference if he hears all about now or I tell him later. I actually have all I can do from keeping him not killing Prenter" Freddie said.

Sir Peter nodded by acknowledging Phoebe's presence.

"I received a call from Ms. Lewis yesterday telling me that Prenter contacted  Ranier.  I told her to stay put and I would call her tonight. She asked about you Freddie" Sir Peter told him. "I have to say I am a little anxious for her and contacted Manhattan's Chief of Police to put a guard and tail on her. Is she compliant with orders Freddie, I mean does she do as she's told?

"No, not at all. My God, she beat the crap out of Paul Prenter almost right after being released from the hospital. No, she will go her own way" Freddie said.

"Freddie, you can't control her?" asked the Commissioner.

"Ha, I already spanked her and wound up making love to her.  A few days after her release from the hospital I almost spanked her again for being incredibly stubborn and headstrong, but I couldn't because  of her surgery. I actually owe her one"  Freddie said smiling as he lit a cigarette. Thinking of the spanking sex he had with Cynthia was causing arousal and he knew he couldn't stand for a while. He squirmed in his seat waiting for his semi to relax.

"Let me make something perfectly clear. She is a brilliant business woman in charge of a billion dollar machine. She's smart, wealthy, incredibly fit and her own person. I would be less than honest if I didn't say I am worried about her safety as well.  She's there and I'm here having to coddle that prick!

"Freddie keep on doing what you're doing with him. We are on the job. Keep him near you and maybe you'll be able to unmask the bastard. We will always be near Freddie"  said Sir Peter. "Please, don't even try to call her, I don't know what is tapped or what surveillance they have."

Phoebe and Freddie left Scotland Yard, Sherlock Holmes with his Watson. "Home to Logan Place and not Baker Street" Freddie told Phoebe as they both chuckled.

Freddie was set to meet Paul at Heaven at 10 PM. He had no idea who would be gathered. Interestingly enough, he had no desire to "be" with men. He had many lovers over the years, both men and women, love affairs, one night stands and even believing he was in love with a few of them. They never lasted. He seemed to gravitate mostly towards men and now all he thought about was Cyn, her body, her mind and the feeling he had when he was with her. He wanted to protect her, care for her and most importantly, love her. Is this what I've been searching for my whole life, is she the one?  he thought.

They are gonna want to do lines tonight and have me join them and probably pay for it as usual. I no longer feel the need to do that. Is my love for Cynthia responsible for that?  Well, I've  got to figure out how to get out of that without drawing any suspicion on myself.

Freddie and Phoebe arrived at Heaven a little after 10 PM and Freddie made straight for the bar. Phoebe positioned himself at a corner table with his back to the wall. He had full view of the room and was able to watch Freddie very carefully.
